About Us Our journey started in 2011 when we became good friends during our senior year of high school. We started dating in 2012 and our first date happened to be one of the worst movies we have ever seen, but by God’s grace Rachel decided to give Chris another chance so he knew that she had to be pretty special! We both are passionate about our jobs. Chris works as a Physical Therapist Assistant in an inpatient rehab unit at a nearby hospital. Rachel works at a family-owned furniture store and also does Interior Design on the side. We love watching movies and are regulars at the nearby movie theaters. We really enjoy taking trips with our friends and families. One recent trip was to the Silver Lake Sand Dunes with two of our close friends. We also enjoy going to Rachel’s family’s lake house in Michigan. Another way we like to spend our time is by updating different things in our house. We have built a little garden in our backyard where we like to grow different vegetables. We have also designed a patio to our backyard which we love to use during the summer to have campfires with family and friends. Our Dog: We have a playful dog named Oliver. He is an 80lb goldendoodle who likes to play outside. He is such a loving dog and is friendly to new people. He is smart (when he wants to be… or when there are treats involved). He is curious and loves to learn new things. He loves to play “keep away” and hide and seek. Our home Our house is a three bedroom, two bath, ranch style home. We have a patio in the back with a big side yard. We live in a small subdivision with friendly neighbors and are close to both of our parents. We are located right on the edge of a small town so we are close to the schools, restaurants, grocery stores, and parks. Our subdivision is perfect to walk the dog or ride bikes around as the roads are not busy. About Chris (written by Rachel): I can’t think of just one word to describe Chris. He is such a loving, supportive, funny, patient, and dependable person. Chris is handy and loves to work with wood and complete projects around the house. Chris is always willing to volunteer his time to help anyone that needs work done. He is passionate when it comes to his job. He loves being a Physical Therapist Assistant and helping people recover from injuries. Chris had a patient that had lost motivation when she couldn’t walk anymore from an injury. He decided to encourage the patient by telling her that if she could meet her walking goal that he would shave off his beard and it worked because she met her walking goal. I know all of his qualities will make him a great dad. About Rachel (written by Chris): Rachel is my best friend. She has been with me in good times and in bad and I know she will always have my back no matter what life throws at us. Rachel is funny, intelligent, caring, and compassionate. She is always willing to help out friends to watch their little ones (not just to help our friends, but mostly so that she can watch Disney movies and spend time with the children). She is goal-driven and action-orient- ed and she shows this at home and in her family’s business. Once she puts her mind to something she immerses herself in it and dedicates whatever she can into it. I know that she will make a great mother because she will dedicate everything she has to a child to help them reach their goals in life as they grow up. She will love and nurture them as if they are her own.
our Family We have a supportive and loving family that live near us. Rachel’s mom is supportive, loving, and dependable. She is always willing to help out when we need it. Rachel’s dad is handy and helps us around our house whenever we have projects. Chris’ mom is outgoing and nurturing, while Chris’ dad is more reserved and quiet, but he is dependable and will drop anything he is doing to help if we need something. Rachel has one brother and Chris has a brother and a sister. Every holiday we get together with everyone and we even try to go Black Friday shopping together with both families. Both of Rachel’s grandmas are still alive and plan to have a big part in your child’s life. We are incredibly thankful for all the love and Chris’ immediate family at Christmas support our families give us. I know our families are so excited to take this new journey with us and can’t wait to be a part of your child’s life. Our Friends: We have had a large group of friends ever since high school. Before we started dating, we each had separate groups of friends. However, during our senior year of high school the two groups seemed to merge together and we have all been close ever since. As the years go by, our group of friends continues to grow through marriages and children. We see our friends often and get together at least once a week just to hang out, play games, or help each other out with projects. Our friends are like family to us. Dear Birthparent(s), We would like to thank you for considering us as a potential match. The decision you are making is admirable. We have always wanted to be parents and we are willing to welcome a child of any race, ethnicity and background to fulfill our lives and will try to incorporate their culture into their everyday lives to the best of our ability. We both feel strongly that adoption is the right path for us to take to complete our family. We value honesty, trust, and respect in our household. We want you to know that we will always be supportive and loving to your child and that we will always encourage them to follow their dreams. We are excited to start this new journey and hope to start it with you! Sincerely, Chris & Rachel Why Adoption We have always wanted to have children and after struggling with infertility for approximately three years, we began looking into adoption.
