Transportation is provided for anyone living within the Vicksburg Warren School District ● Car - Riders ○ Only use the back parking lot ● Bus Riders ○ Back to zoned school and then home
COVID UPDATE (As of August 2, 2021) ● VWSD is In-Person. ● Hinds is In-Person. ● Masks are recommended. ● Take temperature at home. Do not come to school sick. ● Classroom seating - classroom desks will be spaced as far apart as feasibly possible. ● The complete VWSD Covid plan can be found online at district website @ vwsd.org (Return to In-Person Instruction 2021-2022). ○ Exposure ○ Quarantine

Chromebooks ● Chromebooks can be picked up from the office July 26 to August 3. ● After August 3, the chromebook can be picked up from the RCEC office between 8:00 - 3:00. ● A guardian must present a photo ID, pay a $20 technology fee, and accompany their student to pick up a Chromebook. ● The parent and student must ll out and sign the technology agreement form. PLEASE NOTE: Any student who still has their Junior High Chromebooks must return them to their Junior High school office.
Deadlines: Due to our unique academic setting, RCEC holds students, as well as parents, accountable for adhering to strict deadlines. Deadlines include, but are not limited to: ● Enrollment Requirements ● Classwork, Homework, Testing Dates ● Remediation Timelines ● Attendance
You will be responsible to complete the following: ● Complete Hinds Community College online application ● Complete Hinds Community College mandatory forms ● Schedule and take Hinds Community College Accuplacer test ● Complete RCEC mandatory forms Failure to complete any of the above by the deadline signifies rejection of RCEC offer. Student will attend zone school in the fall instead of RCEC.
Top Priority - Your Child’s Safety ● We do not have security guards at the entrance/exit of the building. ● If your child does not follow directions, he/she will have a discipline referral for being out of place.
High Expectations and High Standards State Test - You must pass in order to graduate. • Algebra I • Biology • English II • US History High school classes taught on an honors level.
Attendance is VERY IMPORTANT! ★ If you are absent for a college 3X, you fail the course. ★ You must come to school in order to learn. ★ Administration will address with parents and students if there is an issue with attendance.
Extra Curricular Activities ★ If you are accepted to RCEC, you have to let us know as soon as possible if you will be participating in sports or band at your zoned school. (Scheduling) ★ RCEC is your HOME school. :)

Power Hour ~ SO IMPORTANT 2:25 - 3:10 every day ● Extra Class at the end of the day ○ Seek help when needed ○ Work on VWSD work ○ Work on college work ○ Get support in tested subject area ● If you leave for extra curricular activities, you will not have Power Hour.
Dress Code ● We do NOT require uniforms ● Please see VWSD website for high school dress code ● No hats or anything that covers your head ● No Crop Tops ● Length of skirts or shorts ● Holes in Jeans all of the way up
Discipline ● You are a Hinds student AND a VWSD student. ● Unfortunately, if you break the rules, there will be consequences with both entities.
Hinds Probation/Suspension ● If a student, who is in Good Scholastic Standing at the beginning of a fall or spring term, earns a term GPA of less than 1.75, his/her scholastic standing will become Probation at the end of that term. ● If a student, whose scholastic standing is Probation at the beginning of a fall or spring term, earns a term GPA less than a 1.75, his/her standing will become Suspension at the end of that term, provided his/her overall GPA is also less than 2.00 at the end of that term; otherwise, his/her scholastic standing will remain Probation. ● If a student, whose scholastic standing is Probation at the beginning of a fall or spring term, earns a term GPA of 1.75 or higher, his/her standing will become Good at the end of that term, provided his/her overall GPA is also 2.0 or higher at the end of that term; otherwise, his/her scholastic standing will remain Probation. ● Transfer students who were academically dismissed from the last school they attended, have sat out the required number of semesters, and are eligible for immediate readmission may be admitted to HCC on Scholastic Probation. Transfer students who were placed on Scholastic Probation after their last semester will be admitted to HCC on Scholastic Probation.
