Respite with Bridges Alliance Bridges Alliance is a registered Voluntary Out-of-Home Care (VOOHC) organisation with the NSW Government and is committed to supporting the safety and wellbeing of children and young people with a disability in our care. We can provide NDIS clients under 18 years of age with respite services in our Picton (NSW 2571) child and young person dedicated home. Care may be provided as a one-off emergency placement or may be used by families on a regular or long-term basis. Bridges Alliance staff working with your child or young person are experienced in delivering age-appropriate services and activities to children and young people and are trained in ensuring consistent and responsible care at all times, 24/7. Families and caregivers can take a break knowing that their loved one’s wellbeing, health and safety are Bridges Alliance top priority. Respite at our Picton Home You'll find this 4-bedroom home and bonus granny flat in the friendly rural town of Picton, only 25 minutes from Campbelltown. It is conveniently located within walking distance to main street shops and amenities, including sporting and aquatic facilities.
Respite at our Picton Home This self-contained granny flat has its own kitchen, bathroom and 2- bedrooms and has aircon and wifi. It is located at the back of the main house as part of the large backyard and has a separate entry.
Frequently Asked Questions How much support is provided to each child or young person? We provide support workers based on our client's needs. A client may require 2:1 support or 1:1 support and we will roster staff appropriately to ensure our client is well supported. How many children and/or young people are in the respite home at any given time? The maximum amount of clients staying in the main house of respite is capped at 3 people. For our granny flat this is capped at 2 people. Can my child or young person bring their personal items with them? Our clients are allowed to bring their personal items they wish to have on them during their stay. This may include an ipad, mobile phone, special toy, electronic game, favourite book etc. What is appropriate for my child or young person to bring with them for their respite stay? Items that help calm the client when they become stressed are encouraged to be brought with them. Any item that will make the client feel at home and with ease are highly recommended. Frequently Asked Questions Who do I as the carer, parent or guardian need to correspond with? All communication whilst your child or young person is in our care will be with our Respite Coordinator. What will my child or young person be doing during their stay? We pride ourselves on being able to provide a fun and active experience with our respite stays. We will ensure our clients enjoy activities such as: Movie Theatres to watch movies of their choice Beach days at Wollongong Flip Out - Indoor Trampoline Park Arts and Craft days in the backyard Swimming Pool days in the backyard Playing at local enclosed parks Feeding ducks at the duck pond in the Botanical Gardens Outings for ice cream and sundaes Playing at play centres including Monkey Mania and Crocs Playcentre Arcade games at Playtime Arcade Going out to eat a take-away option of their choice Attending local fetes and fairs Baking - clients choosing what to bake and helping choose the ingredients We encourage our clients to suggest activities they would like to engage in and try our best to make their request happen.
