Access & Accreditation All accreditations for NF delegations will give access to general equestrian areas, the Athlete’s tribune and are valid during the entire event. The main stadium will have a second separate Athlete’s tribune dedicated for those athlete’s participating in the current event. 9

Horse Arrivals The OC have appointed Peden Bloodstock and The Dutta Corporation as the shipping agents: Peden Bloodstock GmbH in Germany Director: Martin Atock The Dutta Corporation in North Salem, NY Director: Tim Dutta Arrivals and Departures will be coordinated by Peden Bloodstock GmbH and The Dutta Corporation in accordance with procedures detailed in the Equine Freight Manual. It will be possible to deliver equipment separately to Horses. Johnson Horse Transportation has been selected as the official Ground Transportation provider. 17
Horse Arrivals arriving through Greenville-Spartanburg Horses arriving through Greenville-Spartanburg (GSP) by plane will do their Post Arrival Quarantine (PAQ) at the venue before going into their designated stables. PAQ is onsite under the jurisdiction of the USDA. Horse Arrivals arriving through Miami or Chicago Horses arriving by plane through Miami or Chicago will do their Post Arrival Quarantine (PAQ) at those airports. They will then be transported to TIEC and enter the venue with Domestic Horse arrivals before going into their designated stables. Domestic Arrivals North American based horses will be enter the venue through the Domestic Arrivals Zone and may arrive during the designated dates and times by appointment. 18

Visas Visitors from non-visa waiver countries will need to obtain a temporary visa. Most visa categories, particularly those intended for participants and officials involved in a sports-related event are: B-1, Temporary Visitor for Business will be required for athletes B-2, Temporary Visitor for Pleasure will be required for all others I Visa will be required for Media You can apply for a U.S. nonimmigrant visa by first filling out the DS-160 online application. After you submit your application, you can move on to the next steps, such as signing up for an interview at the U.S. Embassy in your country. Please contact the OC if you need an invitation letter to submit with your application. 22

National Federation Transport OC will provide rental vehicles for each Chef de Mission and each discipline team. These will consist of cars and vans depending on the size of the discipline team to include the following: Chefs de Mission, Chefs d’Equipe, Athletes, Grooms, Team Veterinarians, Vaulting Attendants, Vaulting Lungers and Vaulting National Trainers. This service will be available from September 1st until September 25th. 25
Car Passes In addition to the vehicles provided by the OC, one additional car pass will be provided per discipline at no charge to park at the venue. Additional car passes for general parking areas will be available for purchase for additional NF parking needs. 26
On Venue transport Internal transport will be provided by golf cart shuttles running throughout the day. Personal golf carts and bicycles will not be permitted. Mobility vehicles for para-dressage athletes will be permitted. Charging stations will be provided next to the stable area. Bicycles will be permitted on the Driving Marathon course only. 27

Importation of feeds, haylage and chaff • Manufacturer required to have FDA registration number • Manufacturer must have agent inside US with knowledge of facility to obtain FDA number • Importer (US company) to assist customs broker with assigning tariff codes and give FDA prior notice of delivery • Feeds containing animal-source vitamins or gelatin (most do), haylages and chaffs require a special USDA short term import permit (VS 16-3) • USDA permit holder must be US company and is responsible for tracking shipments and disposing of unused product at end of competition • USDA requires documents to accompany shipment with details about product composition and manufacturing process
Options for importation of feed, haylage and chaff 1. NF can import products on their own. KER will provide contact details for relevant agencies and procedures at no cost to NF. 2. KER will serve as agent, importer and permit holder for a fee depending on: 1. Number of companies (FDA registration) 2. Number of products (documentation) 3. Number of pieces (tracking and disposal) 4. Number of shipments (tracking and prior notice) 3. Containers
Shipping containers The OC can facilitate the unloading of 20’ containers. Larger containers that require a crane off-load is at the cost of the Federation and will need to be facilitated with the OC. The venue can begin receiving shipping containers on August 15 and must arrive no later than September 7. Ideally, all containers should arrive by September 1. Arrivals after September 1 must be specially approved by the OC. Pods Pod storage will be available onsite for teams. Pricing will be available in due course. Shipping container and POD storage will be in a designated area behind Barn 7. 57
Housing
National Federation Accommodation NF rooms covered by the OC must be booked through the Housing Bureau, Connections Housing. Housing Connections is beginning to send NF hotel cluster assignments out to NF contacts this week. Disciplines will be assigned to hotels within 5 miles/8 kilometers of each other in the following areas. Connections Housing will be able to accommodate additional NF discipline staff within these clusters based on availability. Housing Cluster Assignments: • Endurance / Jumping: Flat Rock • Dressage / Driving: Forest City • Reining / Para Dressage: Asheville Airport • Eventing / Vaulting: Spartanburg Chefs de Mission may choose to book their accommodation for the duration of their stay at one of the locations of their discipline housing. Human Medical A Carolina Med 1 Mobile Hospital Unit will be onsite. Med 1 Capabilities: • 1,000-square-foot patient care component, equipped and staffed to manage minor to severe emergency medical conditions, including operative trauma surgery and intensive medical care • Six critical care beds, including two isolated beds where surgical procedures may be performed • Full trauma surgery and anesthetic capabilities • Emergency department acute care beds and a dental/EENT chair EMS services will be located at each competition field of play. 64
Security Metal detectors and bag search at entrance Special entrance for accredited National Federation delegates Clear see through bags required for spectators Smoking will be strictly prohibited in the stable area Open fires (e.g. camping stoves) will be strictly prohibited Open space and entry ways between the stables may not be obstructed by equipment (except normal size trunks), All electrical plugs will be US sockets (110V), participants will need to bring adaptors or they will be available for purchase onsite. No one will be allowed to stay in the stables. Those who disregard the above security regulations may incur a fine and/or other appropriate sanctions. 65
Veterinary The Veterinary Clinic will offer the following services: Clinical pathology, Pharmacy, Endoscopy, Radiography, Ultrasonography, Physiotherapy service, Stocks, and Weight scale. The Veterinary Clinic is open daily and has regular hours of operation from 07:00 to 18:00 EDT and two hours after any evening competition. 24-hour Emergency Services are available. External referral clinics: - Tryon Equine Hospital in Columbus, NC - The University of Georgia Veterinary Hospital in Athens, GA - North Carolina State University – College of Veterinary Medicine Equine Hospital in Raleigh, NC When needed, an equine ambulance will be available to transport horses under USDA seal from the Veterinary Clinic on-site to these referral hospitals. Equine Ambulance Services are provided by the Massachusetts Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals (MSPCA) and the Polk Equine Emergency Rescue (PEER) under the direction of Mr. Roger Lauze – MSPCA. Farrier Farriers will be available from the day the first horse arrives at the venue and remain on-site until the final horse leaves the venue. Farrier stations will be located adjacent to stabling areas. Games Farrier Coordinator: David Farley CF APF-I and James Gilchrist APF from American Association of Professional Farriers Inc. and International Association of Professional Farriers Inc. (AAPF/IAPF) Forges and equipment will be available for the NF Farriers’ use. Mobile forges will also be available by warm-up arenas (or equivalent) during the competition with everything necessary to replace a shoe quickly. This service will be free of charge for NFs. During competition, two to three further farriers will be on-venue during the day at all times. Outside of the opening hours of the forge, an emergency service will be available. 67
Catering and Hospitality
NF Catering There will be two main catering locations – a main location behind Barn 7 and a satellite, 24 hour location behind Barn 4. Grooms will have access to the catering locations starting the day their horse arrives through when their horse departs. All other NF members with meals covered by the OC will have access to catering free of charge from 1 day before the discipline’s Horse inspection to 1 day after the end of the discipline’s competition. Additional meal access for outside of these periods (including from stables opening) and for additional staff will be available at NF cost. Details regarding the process and costs for additional meals will be available by April 30. Grab & Go options will be available. Food will be available at the start area of each Endurance, Cross-Country and Marathon on those competition days. 69

Media and Communication
Athlete Communications & Interviews Pre-Event When in need of fulfilling athlete interview requests from members of the media, we will work with you directly to gain appropriate access to your federations athletes in a timely manner per each request. We anticipate as we get closer to September, the number of pre-event request access to athletes via the press will increase, most importantly after team selections. If needed, we can help you prepare information statements about the event and progress of the venue in relation to sport, accommodations, ticketing, if questions arise or become prominent in NF communications with the media. We will work directly with each NF Press Officer to coordinate specific interview requests pre-event. 77
Athlete Communications & Interviews During Event The FEI Communications Team and the Tryon Communications & Marketing Team will enforce mandated guidelines during the event in regards to media access to athletes outside of official press conferences and NF-organized interviews. Media will NOT be allowed in the stabling area – only on a case by case basis will the Press Operations Team and FEI Communications Team determined if access to stabling will be granted. If a member of the media requests an in-person interview with a rider, the Press Operations team will coordinate directly with the representing NF Press Officer for direct access to athletes. There will be a Chill-Out Zone in the Media Center, as well as an I-Zone near the Mixed Zone for more casual interviews with athletes pre and post competition. 78
Athlete Communications & Interviews NF Press Officers will be notified prior to any official sport press conference or official communication press conference Press Officers will be responsible for coordinating their athletes timely/pre-determined arrival at official press conferences It is our goal to make this the most comfortable and efficient FEI World Equestrian Games™ for the media yet – and we need your help to make that possible! Post Event Communication and requests via the media post-event will be coordinated through the Press Operations Team and the representing NF Press Officer 79
Mixed Zone, Press Conferences and Interviews All Chefs de Mission, Chefs d’Equipe, Athletes, team personnel and especially medalists and placed athletes are requested to make themselves available for interviews when requested by the FEI World Equestrian Games™ 2018 Tryon Media Team. In addition, all Athletes will be obliged to pass through the flash interview and mixed zones after competing. All medalists, placed athletes and the best US athlete of the respective discipline are obliged to attend the Press Conference at the end of the day of competition. Team Kiss & Cry Areas: Each stadium will have a “Team Kiss and Cry” area to which a maximum of 7 persons pertaining to the relevant Athlete currently in the arena will be allowed. Up to 16 persons will be permitted during the vaulting squad competition. 80

IT Services & Communications Wi-Fi will be available throughout the venue. Radios will be permitted, pending approval of frequencies and devices from the RF Coordinator and registration of the devices. Additional details on this process will be available soon. Closed Circuit TV will be located throughout the venue. Ceremonies
Opening and Closing Ceremonies Opening Ceremony: Chefs de Mission, Chefs d’Equipe, Athletes, grooms and team staff/officials from all NFs represented at the FEI World Equestrian Games™ 2018 in Tryon will be invited by the OC to the Opening Ceremony with their national uniforms (without horses) to take part in the Opening Ceremony on Tuesday, September 11th, 2018 from 6pm in the Main Stadium. Closing Ceremony: Chefs de Mission, Chefs d’Equipe, Athletes, grooms and team staff/officials from all NFs represented at the FEI World Equestrian Games™ 2018 in Tryon will be invited by the OC to the Closing Ceremony on Sunday, September 23rd, 2018 from 6pm in the Main Stadium. 85

Accounts and Rates Prior to the start of WEG, each NF will be required to authorize a credit card to establish a Master Account. They will need to provide a list of those people authorized to charge to the account.
