Pi Day 6th Grade Celebration This year 6th grade celebrated Pi day on March 12th. The 6th graders were involved in a variety of activities to learn about Pi! Students decorated the Pi symbol, made poems about Pi, read about Pi, learned how to nd the circumference and diameter of a circle, and recited as many digits of Pi as they could remember. This years winners included Malori Noll, memorizing 160 digits of Pi! Our runner up Kizzy Marzona memorized 101 digits of Pi. Our other winners include Lola Riddle with a fabulous Pi poem, Zach Courtney and Savannah Miodowski with our Pi artist awards, and Katie Browne estimating the correct number of gumballs in our circular jar. Overall, the 6th grade did a fantastic job learning about Pi. 3.141592…………
Fraser's Finest visit Emerson to teach about fire safety! On Friday, March 12, O cer Scott and some of his EMS and Fire colleagues came to visit 4th graders to teach them all about re safety. They talked to the class about safe habits at home, having a re escape plan, and what a re ghter or rescue worker might look and sound like if they were coming in to save you from a re. Mrs. Collins and Ms. Strahan even got to try on the re bunker gear in front of their classes! After their presentation, the students were able to play a Kahoot to review the new re safety knowledge they had just learned and the winner of the Kahoot in each class won a special Challenge Coin from O cer Scott.
Seth Frye was the top player of the Fire Safety Kahoot so O cer Scott awarded him with the Challenge Coin. Adrianna Paletta was the top player of the Fire Safety Kahoot so O cer Scott awarded her with the Challenge Coin. FORT 4th Grade! For March is Reading Month, Mrs. Collins' and Ms. Strahan's 4th graders created cozy forts out of blankets, their desks, and chairs. Students snuggled up with their books and favorite stuffed animals to enjoy some reading time. This was the perfect way to create a new environment in our classroom while still social distancing!
