JewishColumbus 101 As a Jewish community organization, we fundraise, convene, advocate and inspire change through our collective power. We invest in organizations that fulfill our mission: CARE for the needs of the Jewish people DELIVER Jewish experiences for all ages & cultivate the next generation of leadership and philanthropists ENSURE a vibrant and secure Jewish future in Columbus, Israel and around the world
Community Response Fund (CRF) 101 immediate COVID-19 RESPONSE JewishColumbus enabled our community to JewishColumbus was a first responder to the crisis impacting the Jewish RISE UP TO MEET THE NEED community with the arrival and spread of the COVID-19 pandemic. $322,621 in emergency services: The Community Response Fund (CRF) addresses critical needs in these key areas: • Financial assistance • Food support • Food Security • Jewish Family Services case management • Health & Wellness and career services • Housing Support • Loans for Jewish businesses • General Support • Sonia & Saul SCRIP Cards • Emergency Support $674,182 in funding to keep our Jewish schools and institutions open, such as CJDS, CTA, JCC, Gan Ephraim, OSU Chabad, OSU Hillel and several synagogues. We raised over $1.65 million

Your Impact {stories from the field } The Forefront of Care JewishColumbus partners with Jewish Family Services • “ Jewish Family Services changed my life in so many ways: They gave me the strength to start a job search in the middle of a pandemic. • The Jewish Family Services program gave me direction. They saved me a lot of time with the tips that we learned about just going As the pandemic swept – and continues to sweep – across through the job search process.” Central Ohio, people throughout the community began to struggle with loss of wages, jobs and health insurance. – Sheryl Rosen Smith, Jewish Family Services While the loss of a job is devastating in and of itself, the workforce client process of finding new, sustainable employment is made all the more daunting by the current economic climate.
Your Impact { stories from the field } Connecting the Community: JewishColumbus partners with the JCC JewishColumbus kept the doors open to the JCC after COVID- 19 hit. This was important because the JCC nourishes spirit, “ Even though this year has kept many people apart, the JCC has taken a firm stand to be there for our community no matter the distance. mind and body for the local Jewish community. While COVID- 19 has prevented some of their usual Kosher lunch programming, the JCC has adapted to continue serving Jewish seniors in the area with their drive through Kosher LifeCare Alliance lunch. This is just one of the ways that their commitment to serving the community remains steadfast.
Your Impact { stories from the field } Helping Seniors: JewishColumbus “ partners with Wexner Heritage Village One of my favorite residents greeted me on screen with a big smile. At the end of class, I could feel the room was more happy, and peaceful. A resident commented, “This is just what I needed today. It is good that we are together and we miss you so much.” I couldn’t hold back my tears. Wexner Heritage Village (WHV) offers residents Urban Zen Integrative Therapy classes. Residents love the smell of lemon oil on a cotton pad, which bring back memories of – Lori Moffett, lemonade made by their moms. Residents also love Reiki, Urban Zen Integrative Therapy which is a light touch that brings balance and stability to Program Director at WHV the body, mind and spirit. These classes are filled with laughter, connection, smiles, and moods are always lifted. Recently, Urban Zen is over Zoom, but residents still feel connected and less alone.
