Participation ❏ Any current SOS volunteers or Selection & those who want to volunteer with Onboarding their Chapters in the future ❏ Interested in cross-cultural exchange, learning, and mentorship ❏ Availability to participate in weekly meetings during the summer MAY 15th ❏ Commitment to participate in Program Begins training and fundraising activities Applications will be reviewed by a committee of SOS Staff, Alumni, and Board of Director Members will make selections based on the applications received, considering AUGUST 31ST Program Ends
SOS' Global Ambassadors will help share the stories of Every dollar the Guatemalan youth fundraised makes a mentors they are working with to help fundraise within big difference their community. $20 supports the participation of 100% of funds raised will go one student for one month towards the continuation and in SOS' Guate Groundswell expansion of a scholarship program and technology program for Guatemalan participants, supporting sustainable development through education and youth empowerment. SOS will be there to help you fundraise through both individually-led and group activities. Every participant will be expected to commit to a fundraising goal of $500.00
Supporting Sustainable Community Development Since 2008 Through the online exchange you will be working with youth leaders from three communities (Ojo de Agua, San Felipe Chenla, and Las Arrugas). In each of these communities, SOS has been working for over five years with local partners to support sustainable development through education. The online exchanges are complemented by other programming and partnership to help ensure results are long-lasting, meaningful, and aligned with local priorities.

A: Activities will be offered at multiple times to enable both weekday and weekend participation to accommodate participants' availability Q. How much will I need to fundraise? How will we do it? A: Each participant will be asked to set a minimum fundraising goal of $500. Past experience demonstrates that individuals investing the appropriate time and effort towards fundraising will be able to reach this goal with the guidance provided by SOS. If for any reason, this is not feasible despite volunteers’ best efforts, participation will be evaluated on a case by case basis. Q. What type of training will I receive?
