On the occasion of World Laboratory Day on 23 April

Every year, World Laboratory Day is celebrated on April 23. This day is meant to honor the
place where important discoveries and inventions, some of which changed the world, began.

The Aenova Group is one of the world's leading contract development and manufacturing
organizations (CDMO). The range of services covers the entire value chain of development
and production of all common dosage forms (solid, semi-solid and liquid, sterile and non-
sterile; high and low dose) and product groups for pharmaceuticals and food supplements for
human and animal health.

From analytics to training of young people

The laboratory is, of course, a central part of our
business at Aenova:

    •    in analytics for the quality control of all
         products that we manufacture in large
         volumes on behalf of well-known
         pharmaceutical and healthcare companies,
         as well as
    •    within our development department, where
         we support our researching customer
         companies by laboratory activities, e.g. in
         galenics, in analytical development or to
         prepare clinical studies of phases I to III.
    •    And last but not least in the training of young chemical laboratory assistants, who can
         learn their profession at the production sites of the Aenova Group.

The quality of our manufacturing processes is also assured in the laboratories. We place
particular emphasis on maintaining and ensuring all required standards at all our sites to
ensure the highest product quality and safety. At Aenova we work from OEB level 1 to 5.
These levels of the so-called Occupational Exposure Band provide information about the
toxicology of a substance.

At Aenova, this includes a wide variety of highly potent active ingredients and products such
as cytotoxics and cytostatics, hormones and hormone-like substances, narcotics and others.

Many years of experience

At Aenova, we have a long history of drug development dating back to the late 19th century.
We are proud to be able to apply our experience and in-depth knowledge to our work. We

Analytical and preparative work in the laboratory plays a central role.

The analytical determination of quality characteristics of products, raw materials or process
sequences goes hand in hand with the preparative presentation of possible product variants.
The knowledge generated from this enables us, together with our customers, to realize safe
and effective medicines. This valuable work takes place in our specialized laboratories at all
our sites and forms the basis for smooth commercial production and market supply.

In addition, we also offer services such as the timely storage and retrieval of stability samples
under appropriate climatic conditions, the management of reserve samples and regular
equipment qualification and maintenance.

Our modern laboratories are equipped with a wide range of analytical instruments. In addition
to standard techniques, we offer special analytics for raw material characterization or product
property testing.

Training at Aenova

Laboratory technicians in our analytical laboratories are
responsible for the quality testing of a wide variety of
pharmaceutical raw materials as well as the medicinal
products and food supplements produced at the site. With
the aid of measuring instruments and computer-controlled
analytical equipment, the composition of the raw materials
used and the pharmaceuticals produced are checked. The
tests carried out within the framework of quality control are
carried out in accordance with the internationally valid
regulations (e.g. European Pharmacopoeia Ph.Eur.,
American Pharmacopoeia USP). In order to ensure the
quality of our products, reliable, precise and clean working methods according to GMP
standards are our top priority. After training, chemical laboratory assistants work either in
quality control or in analytical development at one of our sites.

Every day, our highly qualified employees produce high-
                                         quality healthcare products for millions of patients
                                         worldwide in the human and veterinary sectors. In a wide
                                         variety of positions, employees at Aenova bring a high level
                                         of competence and knowledge and continuously develop it
                                         further.

                                         And we promote young talent: We train chemical laboratory
                                         assistants at our production sites and offer a temporary
                                         employment contract of one year following the training.
