COMMUNITY CONNECTION DECEMBER ISSUE 2021 MEMBERSHIP IS AVAILABLE FOR 2022 Membership at the Community Center provides hundreds of opportunities each year to prove that age is only a number. The Center has a calendar year membership fee of $30.00 for Fountain Hills residents and winter visitors. There is a $45.00 Non- resident fee (Scottsdale, Mesa, Rio There are many programs in which to participate. Chair Yoga will be offered in the Winter/Spring sessions. Chair yoga is a gentle INSTRUCTOR: KIM ROH practice in which postures are performed while seated or with the aid of a chair. Postures and sequences are designed to help build strength, flexibility, and balance. IN OBSERVANCE OF THE HOLIDAYS... COMMUNITY CONNECTION DECEMBER ISSUE 2021 ALZHEIMER'S SUPPORT GROUP with a CAREGIVER ACTIVITY available 2nd & 4th Mondays, 10:00-11:30 am Open to the public, no fee or membership required Home Instead/Alzheimer's Association facilitator led meetings. A caregiver is present and does an activity in another room with loved ones so family/friends can attend the support group. CAREGIVER SUPPORT GROUP 1st Monday of each month, 11:00-12:30 pm Open to the public, no fee or membership required December 7th: SPECIAL GUEST: Dr. Karen Willfahrt Dr. Willfahrt will review Self-Care Techniques that Caregiver's Support are always helpful, but especially as we prepare for the Holidays. She will provide the participants with techniques she has on her Top 5 Self-Care List for Caregivers. Scheduling self-care activities and Group watching movies that make you laugh can add joy to an often stressful time. Please join Karen Willfahrt as she ventures on this journey with you. Robertson, M.D. Thursday, December 9th 2:00 p.m. to 3:00 p.m. Pre-registration required. Course #6497 Free for Community Center members; $5.00 for non-members Join Dennis Robertson as he introduces us to the cosmos beyond what is visible on a clear starry night. Dr. Robertson will illustrate his talk with spectacular imagery from NASA and other sources. ABOUT THE PRESENTER: Dennis M. Robertson, M.D.; Professor Emeritus, Mayo College of Medicine, Department of Ophthalmology. Dr. Robertson has been a docent at the River of Time Museum in Fountain Hills.
