SOUTH AFRICAN CULTURAL OR
PERSONAL HERITAGE

Where do we come from, who are we, where are we going?

Heritage :

Something that is handed down from the past, as a tradition:

history, background, culture, past, customs, lineage, roots

The word “heritage” brings to mind different ideas for different people—and
it should. Heritage is a person’s unique, inherited sense of family, ethnic, or
national identity: the values, traditions, culture, and artifacts handed down
by previous generations. We absorb a sense of our heritage throughout our
lives as we observe and experience the things that make our people unique.

Here are some questions to stimulate your creative process

    • How do you define your inherited ethnic, cultural or national
        identity?

    • What would you like your heritage to be?

    • What traditions or rituals do you treasure, either in everyday life or
        on special occasions?

    • How does the Garden Route shape your heritage?

    • How do you see nature as shaping part of our heritage?

    • If you could create our future heritage, how would you?

    • What is our National Heritage?

SALES:
Your prices tags should display the amount INCLUDING the 30%
Evoking commission. Affordable art tends to sell better in these
current times, but don’t sell yourself short.

ALL EVENT EXHIBTION SALES ARE PROCESSED ON THE EVENT DAY/
EVENING, WRAPPED AND GIVEN TO THE COLLECTOR. Artists will
receive their payments after the exhibition is over, 2 weeks after
     the Evoking event.

DISPL AY STAND & ON-THE-DAY SALES
Sales are processed in the art gallery. Sold art will be
wrapped by the artist on the day, and given to the buyer
either at the moment of the sale, or when they leave the
  event.

Unsold artworks will stay on display for another 2 weeks after
which the artist has to either come collect or arrange for
  courier to pick up.

The exhibition will stay up till the 10th of August 2021.

AUCTION:
Selected artworks from selected artists will be included in
the auction. The auction will take place on Saturday evening.
This is a great opportunity for buyers to get a quality piece of
art at a good price and it’s a great opportunity to get one of
your pieces into a bidding war.

The reserve price of the auction artworks - with the approval
of the artist - will be started at lower than their retail value,
and stand the risk of being sold at that amount, but will most
  likely bid higher.

                                5
MARKETING
It is a requirement for our exhibiting artists to actively engage
in our marketing efforts. This will entail being present at
guerilla activations (chalk art, press launch) being active on
social media by sharing Evoking content, commenting on posts
and engaging with all our artists.

PRIZES AND AWARDS
This year we will be working with a sponsor to award the
best artworks in their category with the Evoking 2.0 Award.
Our categories are by medium (e.g. best oil painting, best
watercolour, etc) and theme (the artwork that encapsulates
  the theme the best)
