Program 1 We begin our 2022 season with a celebration of big music In-House in an intimate space. With music for full ACS ensemble, from Lassus’ glorious Musica Dei Donum Optimi (Music, gift of the Gods) and Claudio Monteverdi’s Cantate Domino (Sing to the Lord) to Robert Pearsall’s poignant Lay a Garland, and the spiky Love Lost vignettes by Paul Sjolund, plus music for smaller ensembles. Program 2 Force of Nature explores the Art Gallery of South Force of Australia’s SALA and Archie 100 (the 100th anniversary of Nature the Archibald Prize), revealing our fundamental connection to the world, and how our environment shapes us. Sun Dogs, by Eriks Esenvalds, the core work for this program, depicts how we perceive images through a myriad of lenses. Through the eyes of the artists, we see things anew, Friday and musically we traverse the 16 September, 7.00pm globe. In this inaugural program Program 3 for Adelaide Chamber Beginnings Singers’ new ensemble ACS2, you hear firsthand the thrill of vocal chamber music -ACS2 sung by leading emerging singers from Adelaide, skilfully mentored by members of the ACS core. Directed by both Christie Anderson and Carl Crossin, ACS2 will begin its journey in professional music making in 2022, becoming part of the ACS family and joining the core in many future opportunities. Program 4 There are few words that can Morning describe the pleasure of singing together at Christmas, and ACS will sing with absolute joy, carols Star old and new. We are proud to commission a new carol from South Australian composer and ACS alto Rachel Bruerville (whose ACS commission and performance of In Due Season was nominated for Vocal/Choral Work of the Year in the APRA AMCOS /Australian Music Centre 2019 Art Music Awards), and will be joined by St Peter’s Cathedral organist David Heah. With the most uplifting music Friday of the season, Morning Star is a 25 November, 7.00pm celebration of Christmas in full St Peter’s Cathedral ACS jubilant style. Sunday Featuring music by Byrd, 27 November, 2.30pm Britten, Matthias, Jonathan St John’s Dove, Sally Beamish and glorious Anglican Church traditional carols.

Artistic Director & Conductor Christie Anderson Christie is a singer and award- around the world, and was awarded winning conductor whose love of the Special Prize for Best Conductor vocal chamber music has developed in of the Festival at the 2016 Bratislava her years as a core singer, Associate International Youth Music Festival.
