SCIENTIFIC PROGRAM WELCOME We want to thank you for attending this eighth edition of the Congress of the Ibero-American Group of Cochlear Implants and Allied Sciences (GICCA) which is held in Pamplona between June 5 and 8, 2019. As organizers, it is an honor to act as hosts for this scientific forum, young, but at the same time full of energy, that unites the countries of Ibero-America and that welcomes participants from all over the world. We hope to have developed an event with a high quality scientific content, during which you feel welcomed in a country, Spain, and in a city, Pamplona, with high standards of hospi- tality. We understand that a congress helps to expanding and disseminating knowledge, which is a decisive factor to improve the quality of patients life. With the organization of this GICCA scientific meeting, we want to contribute to the medical advances for the treatment of hearing loss, reaching directly to the actors that make this possible and, therefore, the people who suffer from a hearing disability. Pamplona is a beautiful city in Spain. We hope in your free time enjoy its streets, parks, buildings, museums, gastronomy, traditions and especially its people. Welcome to Pamplona GICCA2019. Yours truly. Prof. Manuel Manrique University of Navarra Clinic Prof. Ángel Ramos Maternal and Child University Hospital of Las Palmas de Gran Canaria. Spain 4
