Meet the Speakers As one of the authors of Jolly Phonics, Sue will be explaining segmenting and blending techniques that will explain strategies for using letter sounds and graphemes. Additionally, Sue will offer advice on how to move on to more complex blending and pace and sequence. Sue Lloyd Dina will show how she successfully uses cross curricular ways for children to use a multisensory approach to using their letter sound and letter shape knowledge. We will see the transfer of knowledge from the Jolly Phonics program to other areas of learning such as play, arts and crafts and moving onto more complex concepts such as digraphs. Dina Restuani Multisensory teaching is a great way for children to learn and Melly will be explaining how she combines the elements of the Jolly Phonics program with a interactive approach for young learners. Meliha Chausheva The pupil books and resources provide many opportunities for extension ideas and we will be looking how you can use these to support children´s learning, assessment and evaluation. Also, we will see how this can be done using the Jolly Grammar resources in the second part of the Conference. Yvonne Dalorto Emerging reading can be a challenging area for young learners making the transitions to lower primary. Diego will be talking about decodable readers and how we can use them to engage children and support phonics. Diego Zaffaroni Jolly Plays is a wonderful collection of drama opportunities for children and Clare will be explaining how the collection of plays can be a wonderful way to help children revise and extend their synthetic phonics, language and grammar skills. Meet the Speakers This is an opportunity to see Jolly Phonics authors. Sara Wernham will be sharing valuable tips about using the Jolly Grammar resources and how they continue on from Jolly Phonics. She will also talk about the value of continuing the systematic approach to continue and extend children Sara Wernham knowledge. As a teacher, academy owner and an education consultant, Jay has been using Jolly Phonics and Jolly Grammar for many years with a range of ages. He will be demonstrating how he builds the foundation for Jolly Phonics and engages children with a range of delivery styles. Jay Richardson Santina will be exploring the 5 core skills with examples and stranguries regarding materials and method. It will be an opportunity to see how she uses the resources and listen to tips and advice using Jolly Grammar. Santina Di Mauro Our Special Guests Managing Director, and owner, of Jolly Learning Ltd. Chris has been passionate to see the programme used widely across the world. He supported the project of experimental verification of Effectiveness of Jolly Phonics Teaching Method in Primary Education in 49 selected schools in the Slovak Republic. Chris Jolly Gilbert Jolly is an Software Developer who has transitioned from working at high growth start-ups in the UK and USA to creating software for social enterprises in the developing world. He has been responsible for creating the Jolly Phonics Lessons app, which is used around the world. He is going to present a new Jolly Classroom Gilbert Jolly Software for Teachers.
