Training & Resources FAMILY SUPPORT INTERVENTION A 3 day training course for healthcare workers on a structured intervention that identifies vulnerable and HIV untested children through primary caregivers. It also prepares caregivers to bring their children to a health facility for testing and disclosure services (case finding). This training assists primary caregivers to overcome barriers and fears.

Training & Resources The “safe” module focuses on safe-guarding children, adolescents and youth to ensure their rights are upheld and are free from all forms of child & adolescent abuse and gender-based violence. The model has been shown to yield best results when implemented within an ecological framework ensuring all levels within society are speaking “one lan- guage” which promotes protection of children, adolescents and youth against all forms of abuse and violence. The “safe” module is implemented as a 5 day training for all cadres of healthcare workers, as well as those implementing psychosocial services to families. Post-training mentorship ensures skills transfer equating to an improvement of service delivery to families. A job-aid is provided to participants and is aimed at assisting with the delivery of gender-based violence and child sexual abuse, adolescent-friend- ly services to adolescents and their primary care- givers.
Training & Resources KIDZALIVE TALK TOOL APP By leveraging mobile technology, this resource is the digital alternative to the paper-based Talk Tool which is part of the Foundations of HIV Testing Services, Disclosure & Adherence training. This job-aid can be used in both one-on-one counselling and in a support group. This is a 2 hour training using a training video and can be conducted face-to-face or virtually with a KidzAlive Technical Advisor and then further observed mentorship to certified KidzAlive FHDA-trained implementers. Child-Friendly Spaces A child-friendly space gives children a sense of security, structure and continuity that provides support amidst overwhelming experiences.
