Use Of Standards In The Classroom •Integrating standards into daily objectives allows students to internalize the language needed to succeed at the next level •Student and teacher are expected to use the academic language every day and tie lessons to these common core standards –Standards are easily accessible with NBC Learns •NBC Learns gives students the ability to choose the content and recognize the specific standards associated Today’s students are producers of information more than consumers; My goal is to help them turn knowledge into understanding using their currency - technology 14
Use Of Standards In The Classroom •Within DPS we are observed, “LEAPed” and expected to refer to standards as part of our daily objective (SWBAT) •Students should expect teachers to be as technologically literate as they are •My perfect classroom has clusters of students huddled around laptops finding and sharing answers with each other •NBC Learns allows students to discover history through journalism Students learn best when they are teaching.
