West End at Windermere (8-18 yrs) Are you looking for a fun and exciting new challenge? Do you dream of being a future star of the screen or stage? Come and expand your confidence and skills at our brand new ‘West End at Windermere’ Summer School! Windermere School has a long history in music and the performing arts and we are delighted to welcome choreographer and West End performer Ashley Johnson as Creative Director of this exciting new addition to our holiday programmes. Under the careful and experienced guidance of Ashley and his team, and using the school’s auditorium and extensive collection of props, you will plan, rehearse and perform extracts from well-known West End musicals such as Shrek, Matilda, Legally Blonde, Grease and Chicago. You will develop and enhance your performing, singing and dancing expertise and gain valuable understanding of musical theatre. The grand finale will be a showcase performance for family and friends at the end of each week. Students will be divided into groups by age (8 to 12 years and 13 to 18 years). Suitable for everyone from beginners to experienced performers. Just bring along your enthusiasm… and, of course, your best singing voice and dancing feet! Residential courses are available for students aged 11 to 17. Students will live in a comfortable boarding house under the care of resident Houseparent and Activity staff.
