Oakville sells land for residential property In 2018, the town completed a two-year, comprehensive master planning exercise for the former Public Works site, located at Glenashton Drive and Trafalgar Road. Rezoning the Glenashton neighbourhood was brought before council at their last development meeting and the purchase was recently approved by the Town. This new development remains in line with the "Liveable Oakville Plan." The bylaw admendment that allows the development of this site says "The town’s Municipal Development Corporation has taken carriage of redeveloping the site. The sale of this land, however, remains conditional: If the owner of the land doesn't comply to the official plan from the Town of Oakville, the town can buy back the land.
