Welcome to the 2023 Camp Guide! It may still be chilly outside, but Howard County Recreation & Parks is already planning cool activities for hot sunny days. Our fun-packed, award-winning camps had over 25,000 registrants last year and we hope to welcome them (and their friends) back this year! Looking for something new? Then check out Abrakadoodle: Adventure to Africa (page 12), Learn to Cook with American Girl Blaire (page 22), Play Squash Academy Camp (page 46), and many more. Enjoy active, indoor and outdoor weeks; build a robot; create some slime; score a goal and more through our educational, interactive, and fun-packed opportunities. Your child will be having so much fun they won’t want to stop. We offer everything from Flag Football (page 40), as seen on the front cover, to Adventure & County Executive Calvin Ball Outdoors (page 4), History & Archaeology (page 20), Magic & Circus (page 26), and plenty of Sports options (starting on page 38). Looking for a longer day? Be sure to check out our sun logo ( ) for camps that run at least eight hours. We encourage you to browse through the guide to find out what works best for you and your family. There’s such a variety of camps here that you’ll be filling your calendar before you know it. And if you’re starting your summer with a vacation, no worries, we’ll be waiting for you when you get back. Just don’t wait too long to sign up for our camps, many of these programs fill quickly!
