About Yum!East
For almost 10 years, Yum!East has gathered East Nashville
restaurants, chefs, food artisans, and specialty purveyors to
showcase the best of this notable neighborhood's culinary
landscape.
Sadly, the pandemic forced us to cancel our 8th annual Yum!East, however this year
we're working to make the event safe, fun, and have just as big of an impact for our
sponsors, restaurants, and our organization. In May and June, we are bringing 3 different
experiences, as well as other delicious opportunities, to enjoy all that the East
neighborhood has to offer.
Fannie Battle Day Home
Our story began in 1891 when Miss Fannie Battle saw a need in the
community. Children were left alone to roam the streets while their
parents went to work. She rented a room in Nashville and began
caring for these children by clothing, feeding, educating, and even
obtaining much-needed medical attention.
Fannie Battle Day Home continues to provide affordable, high-quality
care to working families. We are paving the way for a bright future for
children and families by offering academic and enriching programs to
provide the foundation needed to be successful in school and life.
Our mission is to provide accessible and affordable high-quality childcare while
empowering families to reach their fullest potential. Your support as a sponsor allows us
to keep tuition rates low and offer competitive wages to help retain and attract highly-
skilled educators.
