2020 KOREAN LANGUAGE COURSE ADMISSION GUIDELINE International Exchange and Education Institute of Daeshin University
Ⅰ Introduction of Korean Language Course International Exchange and Education Institute (IEEI) of Daeshin Univ. provides Korean Language Education for foreigners for their lives and studies. As with various local partner institutions, the education courses are designed to help students to learn Korean language and culture successfully. Korean Language Education course provides four semesters in a year and runs for 10 weeks (over 150 hours) per semester. The class is five days in a week and provides Korean culture experience, life adjustment education, special lecture for TOPIK and etc. Ⅱ Qualification Foreign with higher than or equal educational background in high school. June. 01 – 2020. Aug. 07 (3 hours×5 days×10 weeks) 150 hours Fall 2020. Sep. 01 – 2020. Nov. 13 (3 hours×5 days×10 weeks) 150 hours Winter 2020. Dec. 01 – 2021. Feb. 10 (3 hours×5 days×10 weeks) ※ Above schedule can be changed by the curriculum and number of applied students. 2. Ⅳ Selection Standard A. A person who pass the document examination. B. A person who have clear plan for learning Korean. C. A person with no problem to come and study in Korea. D. A person who have enough money to pay the study expenses. E. A person who have enough academic ability. ※ All applicants will be selected by document examination and interview. (But, due to the circumstances at the university, video interviews and telephone interviews can be conducted.) Ⅴ Application Procedure A. Class organization : Students will have a level test before the entrance B. Education Contents : Vocabulary and basic Korean conversation practice, grammar, speaking, listening, reading, writing and etc.
C. Evaluation and Completion ① Grade Evaluation : Regular test (Mid-term 40%, final 40%, attitude 20%) ② Certificate of Completion : The certificate will be given to students over 70% of attendance and 70% from regular test. D. Other activities ① Educate for Korean University life adaptation, basic cultural etiquette, local festivals, cultural experience. ② Run TOPIK preparation class. ③ Do counselling for education and language training life (support for adaptation by mentor and mentee.) Ⅶ Tuition fee and others Tuition fee Insurance and Textbooks (Including TOPIK) Total (1 year) KRW 2,800,000 KRW 300,000 KRW 3,100,000 ※ An alien must pay for 1 year, but transfer students can pay for two semesters (6 months). Above fees can be changed by the related laws. (Students can also register for the one semester (3 months) for the expiration of the stay period or to enter the university.) Precautions on Document Preparation 1) Educational Background - Original documents for Certificate of Studentship (Certification of the Expectant Graduation) should be submitted before the semester starts. - Submit one documents below ① Education documents with Apostille. ② Education documents that has been confirmed by Country of Sojourn Korean Consul or Korean Consul in students’country. ③ Original certificate of educational background and etc. from China Credentials Verfication (www.chsi.com.cn) or China Academic Degrees & Graduate Education Information (www.cdgdc.edu.cn) 2) Documents such as Family Certificate - A documents which can proved an applicant and applicant’s parents’ nationality and relationship - Chinese : Copy of Household Register with family information, ID card and Certificate of kinship.
3) Financial Guarantee - Original bank balance more than KRW 9,000,000 (USD 9,000) - Original certificate of employment and income of parents’ *The required documents for entrance and visa can be adjusted due to the applicant’s country and qualification. Ⅸ Further Informations A. According to the regulations of the immigration office of the Ministry of Justice the admission can be canceled if the applicants fail to obtain the visa required for language course. B. If tuition fee is not paid within the specified date, the applicant may be disqualified from being eligible for final acceptance. C. The acceptance can be revoked even if applicant is granted final admission, if the submitted documents are not true or if fake documents are identified. D. The submitted documents will not be returned. E. If the visa is not issued personally prior to starting the course or is not accepted due to personal reasons, paid tuition fee can be refunded in full, but the commission fees required for overseas remittances are deducted. F. After admission, students need to follow the regulation of the IEEI and if students attempted violation, he/she will be warned or asked to leave the school. G. After admission, students must submit house contract paper, medical checkup (tuberculosis) and join the medical insurance.
