What is the UofR Students’ Union? SPONSORSHIP Welcome Week Demographics Engagement Opportunities PACKAGE Events Contributions
What is the University of Regina Students’ Union (URSU) URSU prides itself on representing the diversity exemplified by the University of Regina student body. We connect students with on-campus opportunities, in an effort to foster social enlightenment, academic achievement, and individual growth. Our mandate depends on the insight and participation of the student community, which in turn enhances the profile of the greater community. “If we can establish an atmosphere in which every individual feels a part of the university — an atmosphere in which the student can participate in and establish an identity in — an atmosphere in which the learning experience extends beyond the classroom and laboratory — then we have accomplished something important.” Don Mitchell, URSU President 1967
Welcome Week Demographics Over 16,000 full and part time students at the University of Regina, and its three federated colleges, are waiting for something to take their minds off, well, everything. Welcome Week 2020 is that thing and a whole lot more. With over 10,000 followers across our social media platforms, there will be plenty of eyes eager to see what’s next. Being part of the excitement online or in real life will give you the chance to get some fresh followers or re-establish your brand in the minds of student community. We will be aggressively aiming to attract more followers to our own social media accounts during this time and your business’s online presence can benefit from these efforts. Engagement Opportunities Typically Welcome Week would take place on the University of Regina Campus, however, with classes being online this Fall and to ensure the health of participants, we will be hosting the majority of our events online, with a few IRL (In Real Life) events at various off-campus sites. We will be having an online Vendor Lounge where visitors can check out all of your attractive products and exciting promotions. Each of our Welcome Week sponsors will be showcased in our Virtual Vendor Lounge on ursu.ca, where your business can highlight eye-catching products, student-only specials, and awesome online promos! This approach allows us to offer an entertaining and engaging experience while ensuring the safety of all involved. By joining with us to put on Welcome Week, you can show students, near and far, that you care about their health and their happiness. Students will be looking to connect more than ever, and eager for distractions from the routine of classes. With a mix of online and IRL events, Welcome Week 2020 is primed to reach more students than ever. This means more opportunities for businesses to showcase their brand and products online, in-person, and always in a dynamic fashion.
Events A digital landscape of entertaining events and engaging content will be available to students, perfect for businesses to connect with a younger audience and update their client base by attracting new customers. Students will find a multimedia mosaic across a selection of social media platforms, allowing your business to tailor their content or contributions for the appropriate audience. We’ll have cooking classes on Instagram and YouTube, dance contests on TikTok, Trivia on Twitch, and a lot more online and IRL.
