WAFL ANTI GAMBLING AND CORRUPTION POLICY 10.3.1 The obligations imposed upon a WAFL Player under this regulation 10.3 are in addition to the obligations of a WAFL Player under the standard playing contract. 10.3.2 A person must not, directly or indirectly, participate or engage in or assist any other person, corporation or entity to engage in the following conduct: a) Bet, gamble or wager on any aspect of any Match or on any event connection with any Match (“Event”); b) Induce or encourage any other person, corporation or entity to bet, gamble or wager on any aspect of any Match or on any Event; c) Contrive or attempt to contrive the result of a Match in exchange for any bribe, benefit or reward; d) Disclose or provide any information about the Teams playing in any Match (including the actual or likely composition of the Team, Players injuries, the form of Players and tactics) unless such information is already in the public domain or given in a bona fide media interview; e) Registered WAFL players of the East Perth and Peel Thunder FC are not permitted to bet on either WAFL or AFL matches.
Sanction: Any person, who does not fully and strictly comply with the provisions of this Rule, shall be dealt with in such manner as the Commission or WAFL Manager in their absolute discretion think fit and without limiting their power they may: a) Impose a monetary sanction; and/or; b) Prohibit a person from competing in or attending the WAFL competition for any period of time; and/or c) Require a person to attend counselling or any course in relation to responsible gambling.
