Event Description th th The Calgary BMX Association is excited to host to the Canada Cup BMX Series Finale August 28 to 30 , 2015. The newly renovated Calgary BMX track will be the final stop on the Canada Cup BMX race calendar, th th with race #6 happening Saturday August 29 and race #7 happening Sunday August 30 . New for 2015, th Calgary BMX will also play host to a third UCI class C1 event, scheduled for Friday August 28 . Although the Friday event will not be a Canada Cup, riders will still be eligible to collect valuable C1 UCI points. Entry Fees: All entry fees are outlined below in line with current UCI and CCC financial obligations. Valid UCI international racing licenses are required for all categories. Holders of UCI international licenses that do not bear a photograph will be required to present an approved and valid government photo ID in addition to their UCI license. All UCI C1 and Canada Cup participants will be subject to Rules and Regulations of the UCI. All challenge class riders will be subject to the rules and Regulations of the Alberta Bicycle Association. To review the Alberta Bicycle Association Provincial regulations for BMX, click the link below: ALBERTA BICYCLE ASSOCIATION – PROVINCIAL BMX RACING REGULATIONS Those participating in the Junior Development (14-16 year old) races may also register separately to participate in the provincial age class challenge races. Pro Section The Junior Development class will be treated as Championship class. All Male Championship classes will run the PRO section and women will run the amateur section. Canada Cup Series points will be awarded as outlined in the table below. With this event serving as the BMX Canada Cup Series Final, Cycling Canada will be recognizing Series Champions in all Canada Cup categories. The UCI points available at each of the C1 events are outlined in the table below. Race packages can be picked up by the rider or a representative; however the riders UCI Licence must be presented to pick up the package. If the package is being picked up by a representative they must have a valid UCI Licence. See the full weekend schedule for Race Office hours of operation. Training Periods: The track will be open to racers only during designated official Training times. During these times race plates are mandatory. Failure to run race plates in official training periods will result in disqualification or fine from UCI. The PRO section will be used by Male Junior Development and Championship classes only. The PRO section will be closed during the 14+ practice. Junior Development riders will practice during the championship practice time. It is our hope that all Canadian athletes respect the rules which include not using prohibited substances or practices. As this event is fully sanctioned through Cycling Canada and the UCI, all participants in possession of a UCI license are subject to doping control under the UCI’s rules and guidelines. It is the riders’ and team managers’ responsibility to understand these rules. The doping control station at the venue will be clearly marked. Athletes who are selected for testing will be met at the finish line by a chaperone. All athletes who DNF must report to the finish line.
