Thank you for choosing to Fund- raise for Greyhound Rescue Wales. This pack will offer help and advice to support the charity, with hints and tips to make your fundraiser a success! GRW campaigns endlessly to spread the message that Greyhounds and Lurchers make wonderful pets and companion dogs. Every adopted dog is neutered, vaccinated, microchipped, given veterinary treatment if necessary and comes with a collar, lead, muzzle and tag. With an adoption fee of £175, the charity loses money every time a dog goes to a new home! Registered Charity No: 1152650

REGULAR COSTS It costs approximately £3000 a week to run VACCINATIONS Greyhound Rescue Wales. NEUTERING It costs approximately £1000 to care for DENTAL one dog during their stay at Hillcrest. FOOD In addition to general running costs, we FLEA & WORM TREATMENT also have our Last Hope project that helps dogs requiring extensive surgery and rehabilitation prior to rehoming, which comes with considerable cost implications to the charity. COLLECTIONS TEAM Our collection teams are a great way to get involved with the charity and meet like- minded people! Street collections are a great way to raise funds and awareness about the plight of greyhounds. Businesses can also support GRW by displaying a collection tin in their shops or offices. STAY COVID SAFE! DUE TO GOVERNMENT GUIDELINES TO PROTECT THE PUBLIC FROM COVID 19, MANY FUNDRAISERS HAVE HAD TO BE CANCELLED WHICH HAS HAD A HUGE DETRIMENTAL IMPACT ON CHARITIES. - Enforce social distancing rules - Provide plenty of sanitising stations. - Consider whether you could do a digital fundraiser instead. - Provide all volunteers with appropriate PPE. - Check with your local council on whether you have permission. - Enforce the use of masks in open spaces. - Be prepared for the possibility of cancelling short-notice - If in doubt, ask for guidance. We may ask you to cancel or postpone your event if we feel it is not safe at the current time. LEGALITIES & LINKS Keep your fundraising legal! Fundraising is controlled by law and regulation. You, as a fundraiser, and GRW can be fined for breaking the rules. So if you're unsure, get in touch. Events including the involvement of dogs should only be carried out at a dog-friendly venue that has confirmed permission for dog attendance. Alcohol You will need a license if you have alcohol at your event. It is often easier to hold your event on a licensed premises (ie. a pub or bar) or ask a local pub to organise a bar at your venue. Portable bars must provide evidence of a license. Food If you're selling food or it is available, please ensure compliance with food safety laws.
