Y o g a & C OO K I N G Daily Yoga and meditation to bring awareness to your physical, mental and emotional body. The holistic cooking workshops will be a veritable celebration of local, seasonal and nutritious food. You will learn to create balanced, nutritious and healthy meals that are as delicious as they are good for you. Yoga & Meditation Each day will start with a 15 minute mindfulness meditation followed by a dynamic yin/yang flow yoga class. In these sessions you will be encouraged to breathe as you move from pose to pose. These classes can be adapted to any level from beginner to a more seasoned practitioner. The evening will conclude with a very special restorative yin class that includes individualised massage. Yin yoga is slow paced where poses are held for longer inviting deeper relaxation. Seasonal Cooking We live in a society dominated by stress and eat foods replete with chemicals, pesticides and lacking nutritional value. It is important that we eat real food, incorporate more plants into our diet and learn how to prepare nutritious meals that are free of pesticides, chemicals and food that promotes inflammation. During the cookery course you will understand the truth about fat, sugar and superfoods, as well as be taught techniques that can boost the nutritional value of your food. In a very hands-on way you will prepare some of your own meals.
C OO K I N G W O R K S H O P S The workshop themes include: • Garden foraging according to seasonality • Sourcing quality seasonal and organic foods • Creating nutritionally complete menus • Producing beautiful tasty meals • Working with healing herbs& spices • Exercises to develop taste sensitivity • Preparation, cutting and cooking skills • Presentation skills • Understanding the benefits of various dishes • Exploring traditional natural cooking styles • Cook delicious, colourful alkaline forming meals • Learning how to apply ‘food as medicine’ principles to your cooking.
OUR TEAM This retreat hosted by the Indrani Lodge team of experts in yoga, massage and culinary nutrition. On our beautiful farm in the Belgian countryside is the perfect setting for you to practice yoga, meditate and participate in healthy cooking workshops that teach you how to prepare healthy, local, seasonal, nutritious food. Holistic Food Caoch & Yoga Teacher Vanessa Jaich With over 20 years of experience in the practice and teaching of yoga, Vanessa would love to share her tools to help people use food as medicine integrating yoga and meditation techniques for overall wellbeing. She co-founded ‘AIR’ yoga studio in Cape Town. Also Trained in culinary Nutrition as a Natural Chef at CNM (College of Naturopathic of Medicine, London) and is a certified Health coach. Massage Therapist Hakim la Rocca With over 7 years of experience in holistic massage, Thai massage and sports massage, Hakim is a dedicated and qualified massage therapist. With experience as a masseur for international rugby teams, the Cape Argus Cycle Tour, the ABSA Cape Epic Mountain Bike race in South Africa and the Cirque du Soleil, Hakim is passionate about the human body and movement.
