Early Literacy
(Age 0-5, or not yet in Kindergarten)
Weekly Activities Hays Public Library, in cooperation with the 1000 Books
Foundation, invites you to participate in this free program which
Storytime: Mondays & Tuesdays @ 10 a.m. encourages you to read 1,000 books with your children before
Enjoy stories, songs, rhymes, activities, friendships, and so much they start kindergarten. Join Hays Public Library by participating
more in our Storytime! This 20-30 minute program is for children in our reading challenge! Grow your child’s literacy skills by
3-5 years old. Children and caregivers are both expected to reading to newborns, infants, and toddlers. To register your child

Tutoring Services Kansas Room
The Hays Public Library, in partnership with Fort Hays State The Dorothy D. Richards Kansas Room is a local reference

times to meet with an assigned tutor. Students may choose
to withdraw from tutoring services at any time. The library
reserves the right to discontinue services for habitual
absences. Along with providing reference materials, the Kansas Room
