2 Fantasy Playhouse Children’s Theater & Academy About Us Fantasy Playhouse Children’s Theater and Academy (FPCTA) provides theatre arts access through production, education and outreach, reaching more than 29,000 residents annually, including 16,000 children and youth. FPCTA enriches the lives of children and families through theatre and arts education, encouraging students to become self-confident, academically successful, creative-thinking citizens who are more likely to invest in their communities as adults. FPCTA’s core programs include live children’s theatre productions, classes, camps, workshops, and educational outreach through after school classes and In-School Touring programs. Recognizing the transformative power theatre arts can have in the life of a child, FPCTA prioritizes theatre arts access for all by engaging local underserved communities. 4 Fantasy Playhouse Children’s Theater & Academy FULL Day Camps About: Actors will work on different elements of theatre including acting, voice, movement, dance, musical theatre, improvisation and much more! Each week will have a theme, which will inspire the week’s activities. In addition, actors will participate in our Wednesday Workshop Day- actors will have a specialized workshop appropriate for their age group. Friday is Sharing Day! Campers Showcase their work to invited family and friends! Ages: 5-15; Actors are divided into age appropriate groups! 6 Fantasy Playhouse Children’s Theater & Academy THEATRE SHOWCASES ADVANCED MUSICAL THEATRE SHOWCASE: DISNEY’S THE LITTLE MERMAID JR. About: This performance intensive showcase will help aspiring actors grow while working on a musical! Actors will showcase their talents in a fully developed production on Friday, July 24 at Bob Jones High School. Class size is limited. Ages: 8-18 Cost: $475 for two weeks! REHEARSALS Dates: Monday-Friday; July 13-17 and July 20-24 Time: 9:00am – 3:00pm Location: Bob Jones High School PERFORMANCE Date: Friday, July 24 Time: Cast A at Noon and Cast B at 2:00pm YOUNG MUSICAL THEATRE SHOWCASE: THE LITTLE MERMAID & FRIENDS About: This fun and high energy class teaches our young performers the process of putting on a play! Actors will perform a play before the Advanced Musical Theatre Showcase on Friday, July 24 at Bob Jones High School. Class size is limited. Ages: 5-8 Cost: $250 for two weeks! REHEARSALS Dates: Monday-Friday; July 13-17 and July 20-24 Time: 9:00am – Noon Location: Bob Jones High School PERFORMANCE Date: Friday, July 24 Time: 10:30am TEEN ACTING SHOWCASE: THE HAMLET THRILL-MA-GEDDON About: Affectionately described as “boot camp theatre,” FPCTA’s Teen Acting Showcase is an exhilarating combination of theatre training and stage experience. This program requires a lot of discipline and focus and is an exciting challenge for any young actor. Actors will showcase their talents in a fully developed production on Saturday, July 11 at Bob Jones High School. Class size is limited. 2020 Summer Camp 7 POLICIES AND PROCEDURES REGISTRATION FINAL PRESENTATION/SHOWCASE Online: Register at www.FantasyPlayhouse.org Accounts must be in good standing or students will not be allowed to participate in final class presentations and/or performances. Fees: Class/Camp fees may be paid by cash, check or credit card. Students are registered upon receipt of registration form and payment in full. Payment FINANCIAL ASSISTANCE plans may be arranged through the Education Department. Full and partial tuition assistance is available and awarded on the basis of financial need.
