It has been an exciting quarter with the introduction of new LYNKZ whanau members, LYNKZ Factor, Our first 4 day camp, boat trips, touring and exploring from Whangarei to the Far North and all the way to Cape Reinga. Overall it has been a great learning experience for all our whanau. Our focus is on the key elements of leadership in- cluding what it takes to be a leader, establishing strengths and weaknesses and vulnerabilities. Not only did we learn about ourselves but met and learnt from others experiences. We would like to acknowledge everyone who worked hard to make LYNKZ a fun envi- ronment, the implementation on a successful programme and helping it run as smoothly as possible.

Kia Ora Koutou. When we opened LYNKZ up for the 2020 year on January 13th, who would have ever predicted what would be in store for us this year. We have weathered a year of almost unprecedented change and challenge and have come out as a stronger, more dynamic and closer whanau for it. When I look back and reflect upon the level of change that we have all endured, it amazes me to see how lucky we are to all be in a place that we can look to 2021 as a year with hope of our normal new being one that still allows us to make the most of the beauty and opportunity that Te Tai Tokerau has to offer. Despite challenges, we have still managed to create some great memories this year. Our online programme and activity packs provided activity, engagement and opportunities for us to continue to engage with each other during a period of isolation and loneliness for many. It was a privilege to be one of the continued contacts for many of our whanau, who otherwise would have no doubt struggled even more without the activities we were able to provide. Alongside our usual activities, videos like Tik Tok Tuesday and the Friday quiz became highlights of the week for all. As we moved into a post lockdown time, we got our program back on track and slowly but surely welcomed each other back into the LYNKZ whare. We have seen many new faces, one of which is our new facilitator Abbe; who has settled in quickly to be a key component to the LYNKZ whanau alongside Terisa. A personal highlight for me was our day trip to the “hole in the rock” where we were treated to all the beauties nature can provide, from Wales and Dolphins to lovely weather and great company. This alongside our first 4 day camp and trip to Cape Reinga has created many memories that will last us a life time. I would like to thank my team, particularly Terisa, Abbe, Stella and Storm, as well as Clara and Des; and everyone else who has helped us throughout this year to make LYNKZ the special place that it is. We couldn’t do what we do without all of your support, so my thanks and well wishes go out to you all. I hope you all have a great Christmas and we look forward to an exciting 2021 full of activities, events and opportunities as we continue to strive to deliver the best programme we can. Kia Kaha Whanau, Adam Dade, Client Services Manager
