In our Region Ministry Last week was a busy time for Northern Beaches Uniting Church and our ministries. Our Regional Worship Service last Sunday was a beautiful way to start Advent and show our thanks to both Pastor Kaye and Len for all they have contributed to our church and ministries over many years and we were thankful no one melted in the heat!!! On Monday our Little Footsteps families enjoyed a picnic at North Harbour Reserve and the cool breeze. It was so lovely to reconnect with the young families in our community that we have not be able to see due to coronavirus restrictions. We all enjoyed a scavenger hunt and everybody left with a mini Christmas pudding made by Winfred Garland from our Freshwater Family.
Balgowlah This week our wall mural took life and on Thursday afternoon our congregation members joined Meg Minkley (our artist) to put their stamp on the mural ….

Christmas has come early, please keep praying for this new initiative. Suicide is having a sobering impact on the Northern Beaches. Every year, Lifeline Northern Beaches answers tens of thousands of calls from people facing all kinds of issues; domestic violence, grief and loss, depression, abuse, loneliness, financial hardship and more. Our volunteers offer critical support, but in 2018 alone, there were still 30 suicides in our immediate community. That’s more than one suicide every fortnight. Last Saturday the annual Lifeline Classic Surf Competition was held, to raise funds that will be used to help fund the local crisis support and suicide prevention services of LLNB. A total of over $51,000 was raised, and a big thank you to all those who contributed. Our NBUC Legends team contributed to raising funds this year – a big thanks to Bruce Vial for his work in overseeing this. Cromer This week our Comer community delivered another load of Trauma Teddies (with love) to the Northern Beaches Hospital, well dome those involved.
