Cheshire Cat: Alice is about to discover that Wonderland is far more than what she expected. It’s a land of racing lobsters, singing flowers, painting cards, and even a Cheshire cat…that’s me. But I come into the story later. Alice’s journey to Wonderland begins with a pallid, long eared, carrot munching, quadruped known only as…The White Rabbit. Alice followed the White Rabbit to the edge of the rabbit hole. She jumped into the dark rabbit hole and fell for what seemed like 3 and half weeks. More like 4 and a quarter. She fell and fell and fell. But she wasn’t alone. Finally, Alice landed right in front of a very little door. Alice: Should I or shouldn’t I? You know what they say “If you don’t explore, you will never discover.” But my sister Mathilda always says “Look before you leap.” Well I’m looking and it looks pretty deep and dark and I can’t see the bottom and maybe it goes all the way to the center of the Earth and Ill be burnt to a crisp in the molten core like the bad marshmallow we have heard so much about…. Or not. Okay, I looked, now I am going to leeeeeeap. Hmm. I don’t really know what is in this bottle, but it looks so pretty. It could be poison, or mayonnaise, or floor polish, or a frothy combination of all 3. But I have to find the White Rabbit. What to do…what to do. Oh well, if you don’t explore, you will never discover. Caterpillar: Don’t let those babbling blooms get you down, kid. Don’t you know, beauty is just a surface thing? Who you really are- what you’re worth- resides much, much deeper. Those fleeting flowers are just gonna wind up sitting around in somebody’s imitation, cut glass vase for 3 days ‘til they wither and die, then its “Thanks a lot” and out with the garbage! Am I right? But enough about them. Whooo, pray tell, are youuu? Me…? I am the Caterpillar, kiddo. Your wonder of wonders, your miracle of miracles, your happy, happy day. Alice, adventure doesn’t always make sense. But it doesn’t mean you stop exploring. The caterpillar is gonna share 2 magical, hyphenated, little words with you guaranteed to make even your very worst day simply, absolutely, fabulous! Ready? Repeat after me: Zip-A-Dee-Doo-Dah, Zip-A-Dee- Ay.
