In Order for Students to Be Successful: Students need to be in attendance and on time to school each day Students need to be prepared for learning each day Students need to get plenty of sleep each night so they can be focused and engaged in their lessons. (According to Sleep.org, during the elementary and early middle school years kids typically require 9 to 11 hours of sleep per night.) Students have to be respectful & follow the JISD Student Code of Conduct
FREE BREAKFAST AND LUNCH At Masters ALL students will receive free breakfast and lunch each day!
Opportunities to Connect: • VOLUNTEER (once we are cleared to have visitors) – In classrooms, library, cafeteria, office, bus loop/loading area, and hallways – Field trips – Student events (field day, book fairs, etc…) – Watch D.O.G.S • PARTICIPATE in: – Parent Surveys & Survey meetings – Parent (academic) nights – Parent Workshops/trainings – Parent-Teacher conferences – Coffee with the Principal and Counselor – PTO

MEET OUR ACADEMIC COACH- MR. HARVEY • Born and raised in Baton Rouge, Louisiana • Began teaching in Baton Rouge • Part of my role is to support teachers with providing students with rigorous learning experiences • The second part of my role is to support the Principal and Assistant Principal with administrative tasks throughout the campus
ACADEMICS • We use various curriculums such as ThinkCentral, Wonders, Pearson Envision, Decodable Text • Students take BOY, MOY, and EOY benchmark assessments using TX-KEA, CLI Engage, Amplify(Dibels 8), Imagine Reading & Imagine Math • Students are currently working on BOY benchmark assessments
ACADEMICS • Daily checks do not count towards grades. They are for attendance purposes. • Assignments posted in canvas are counted towards grades. • Students will have 3 days after the due date to turn in missing assignments
