THE BREWERS • 2018-2019 Season Formed in 1892 The club is believed to have been formed in 1892 as John Smith’s FC. It wasn’t until 1923 that the Tadcaster Albion AFC name was adopted. In the early years the club played in the local York League. In 1948 Albion won the York League. They continued competing in the York League during the 1950’s & 60’s. THE BREWERS • 2018-2019 Season Michael Morton Manager An FA Level 3 and UEFA B Coach who also holds FA Youth Award Modules 1,2 and 3 with over 10 years’ coaching experience in English Academies including Manchester City, Leeds United and the i2i Football Academy. Michael currently works as Lead Youth Development Phase Coach at Leeds United returning to a club he has supported and loved for many years. Michael enjoyed a huge amount of success during his time at the i2i Football Academy developing players who have gone on to play professional football such as Ronaldo Vieira (Sampdoria), Romario Vieira, Alfie Beestin (Doncaster Rovers) and Harry Sheppeard among others. Michael along with Simon steered the i2i/York College Football Development Centre to four National College Finals in three years winning one of those at Walsall FC back in 2017. Michael has also completed the Position Specific Coaching 9PSC) English FA Course on developing defenders, midfielders and forwards. They stayed just one season formed in 1921, but recent research into club history has revealed before transferring to the re-formed Midland League in 1961. Began his career at Lincoln City and made 21 appearances in National League. Has also played for Alfreton and Buxton Jenk Acar (dob 06/09/97) (Attacking midfield) Returned to the Tulips’ fold in mid-October after a 14 match experience in the Premier Division with Grantham Town. Before his departure from the Tulips in the close season, Jenk had accumulated 79 appearances for the club following his move from the Academy ranks of Lincoln City. He made 36 appearnces in his debut season (2016/17) for the Tulips and scored 14 goals. Bradley Wells (Striker) Returned to the Tulips camp in mid-December. He last donned a blue shirt in the 2016 season, making 47 appearances and scoring 28 goals in league and cup competition.His travels since have taken him to Stamford and AFC Mansfield. Among his other clubs are Long Eaton,Belper and Gainsborough Trinity. Alex Smith (dob 23/02/96) (Golkeeper) Introduced to the Tulips via the under-21 squad for 2017/18 season and has been a very able deputy to regular number-one Michael Duggan. Made his NPL debut in a league cup match against Gresley FC, performing superbly in a penalty shoot out. Made his debut in Step 4 against Carlton Town and again did not disappoint. Was one of the stars in the January ’18 7-3 victory agaiunst Pontefract Colleries. James Cullingworth (Right back/midfield) Joins the Tulips for a second time, from Newark Floserve. Charlie arrives from League Two club Lincoln City as a work experience player until the end of the season Management Team Matthew Easton (Manager) After a short spell away from football he joined the Tulips in May 2017. A highly regarded qualified coach with most recent experience gained with the FA’s under-16 England squad. A Uefa ‘A’ licenced coach who has worked with clubs in England and Ireland. Matt started his playing career at Ruston Sports before playing at Leicester United, Alfreton Town, Holbeach and Louth United. He was previ- ously assistant at Spalding before taking over the manager’s hotseat in September 2018. Richard Storey (Physio): Richard joined the Tulips in October 2016 following the departure of long-term medical custodian Sam Seal. A veritable giant of a chap, Richard’s expertise should ensure injured players are back where we need them most as soon as is practically possible. Bob Don Duncan (Director of Football) A UEFA A Licence coach, Bob is a former player and manager with the Tulips and has been around the non league at our level and above for many a decade. He was manager at Grantham for a while but since 1993 until the end of the ‘09/10 season he had been at the helm of United Counties League club Boston Town. @TadcasterAlbion Lewis Thorogood (Development manager) Having gone through the ranks of both assistant and head coach roles at Boston United Centre of Excellence for many years and working with the club’s youth team along with first team match analysis for a period of time, in 2015 he took over the newly formed Boston United Under-21 side successfully winning the title in the first season and developing a pathway for young players and existing to work into the first team structure.
