Towards 2020: 100 years with Fellini
From 4th October 2108 to 3th January 2019
Celebrations for the centenary of Federico Fellini's birth
The Municipality of Rimini and its Film Library (Cineteca) have organized a rich program of events to
commemorate and celebrate Federico Fellini, starting from October 4th.
25 years after the death of the great director, a long journey will begin, full of events, until 2020, the centenary of
the director's birth, that the city of Rimini will celebrate with the inauguration of Fellini Museum.
The first part of the review "The movies that I wrote", 15 films (projected in 35 mm), will start on October 4th, at
the Film Library. A conference will also be organized to deepen and study the Fellini's themes (Wednesday 24th
October at 9.30 a.m.). To celebrate the 25th anniversary of Fellini's death, a double appointment has been
organized: the presentation of Gianfranco Miro Gori's book “Rimini in the cinema” and the screening of the film 'I
Vitelloni' introduced by the director Susanna Nicchiarelli (Wednesday, October 31st at the Cinema Fulgor).
On November 14th, Peter Gonzales - protagonist of the film - and Francesca Fabbri Fellini will present the
screening of 'Rome', on the occasion of the opening night of the 11th edition of Amarcort Film Festival, at the
Fulgor Cinema.
On Wednesday 5th December at the Fulgor Cinema, “Fellini - Zavoli – Rimini” will be presented, a project of a
documentary under construction. The program also includes two literary presentations that will also be held at the
Fulgor Cinema: the presentation of the book “8 ½ Federico Fellini”, released in 2018 by Roberto
Chiesi (November 13th) and the preview of the book “Tre passi nel genio” by Ottavio Cirio Zanetti (December
11th).

Guided tours of the Amintore Galli Theater

Discovering the history and spaces of the Galli Theater
Thirteen shows in thirteen days including music, dance and prose: the Teatro Galli is preparing to 'celebrate' the
first month of activity supported by the love of the Rimini public and the great interest aroused even beyond the
city limits.
From 28 October, the date of the exciting inauguration with the voice of Cecilia Bartoli, about seven thousand
spectators entered the reborn Theater, including special events - from Roberto Bolle to Piovani – from Sagra
Musicale Malatestiana to the first prose shows.
The voices of the protagonists will remember the emotions of this first month of art and culture at the 'Galli',
through a series of videos that will be published on the Municipality's web and social channels, to retrace these
first intense thirty days together.
From Saturday 1st December, guided tours of the Theater will be available; one of the many initiatives included in
the longest New Year's billboard in the world.
The first visits will be in the afternoons of Saturday 1 and Sunday 2 December, and then will continue throughout
the month on Tuesday, Thursday, Saturday and Sunday, with exceptional openings from Wednesday 26 to
January 6. More than fifty guided tours.
During the days of shows and special events there will be variations to the calendar.

Rimini)

Photographic exhibition dedicated to Rimini companies from the beginning of the 20th century to the 80s
Zeinta di Borg, in collaboration with the Department for the Arts of the Municipality of Rimini and the studio Foto
Pari Tani, organizes the second exhibition "Riflessi e Riflessioni" with images of the "historical" enterprises of
Rimini: photos of shops in the areas of historic center and the neighbourhood.
The first edition, which took place between September and October 2017, saw at the Far exhibition thousands of
visitors and two passionate debates on the topic of trade.
NFC Agency published the images of both this and the previous edition in a single large volume.
The title is symbolic and at the same time descriptive: "Fatigue, will and pride", to signify what it means to raise
the shutter every morning.

Children and families event in Castel Sismondo
Start the new year in the wonderful background of Castel Sismondo! Cartoon Club Festival is proposing a series
of events specifically for children and their families: the Castle of Dreams.
On January 3-4-5, in the afternoon (from 16 to 19.30), the hall at the second floor of Castel Sismond becomes a
dreamy place, with plays and readings performed by Marcello Franco.
A funny and ironic show, which will stirr the whole family, suitable for children from 5 to 105.
On January 6th, from 4pm to 7.30pm, the Castle will be populated by characters in costume among the most
beloved by the kids: they will meet princesses, elves, wizards and, most important, the Befana! Guests of honor,
the Crew of the Lilliputians with their amazing magics.
There will be also available a photo shoot for the children who will wear the clothes of Princes and Princesses.

Christmas village in Miramare

Event for the world's longest New Year celebrations
The Pro Loco Association “Miramare d'Amare”, on the occasion of the Christmas holidays, sets up a themed
village consisting of wooden houses, nativity scenes from around the world, Christmas trees and children's games
along the avenue Oliveti, from the train station to viale Regina Margherita.
Children can deliver Christmas letters to Santa Claus who every year comes from the North Pole to bring them
gifts.
Until January 6, you can visit the house of Santa Claus who will distribute sweets to children during the weekends.
Here you can admire the Nativity scenes from the 5 continents and the Nativity scene of the future and you can
take pictures under the Christmas tree.
From December 8th, Christmas products will be exhibited during the weekends, while on December 31st, the New
Year will be celebrated with entertainment and music starting at 10.00 pm (stage in the station area).

Discovering the historical heritage of the Gambalunga Civic Library
The Gambalunga Library offers the opportunity to visit the Ancient Halls in the seventeenth century Palazzo
Gambalunga, where it is possible to admire the most prestigious volumes and precious furnishings. Founded by
the jurisconsult Alessandro Gambalunga, who prepared the legacy of his "library" to the Municipality of Rimini in
his will. His achive consisted of 1438 volumes, about 2,000 printed works, with prestigious covers bearing the
emblem of the family and the name of the patron. The library, opened in 1619, qualified as public, is the first civic
library in Italy. In the seventeenth and eighteenth century rooms you can discover treasures of refined elegance

with the specialities of Valmarecchia, are just some of the proposals that can be found in the beautiful setting of

On the beach you can also admire the ecological Nativity scene created by the young people from the "Crescere
Insieme" non-profit association, while on the seafront a fun fair animates the beach promenade with games
and sparkling Christmas lights. The Viale Vespucci, illuminated with beautiful Christmas trees, turns into a fragrant
Christmas set.
Don't miss the Santa Claus bingo: at the village you can buy tickets for the Christmas raffle whith great prizes.

there to be admired by the public until the Epiphany when it will be immersed again.
The ceremony is made possible thanks to the collaboration of naval forces and civil protection.

Walk for families in Borgo San Giuliano
A path in the labyrinth of the streets of the village, suitable for adults and children, in search of hidden Befanas.
The event offers a nice review of the traditional Befana, asking for a small physical activity to be shared with the
whole family.
To participate, it will be enough to wear comfortable clothes and bring a sock - rigorously empty - on the morning
of January 6th in Piazzale Vannoni, (Conad Tiberio area).
The path winds through the ancient heart of Borgo San Giuliano among the murales, alleys and squares of the
ancient village, where the little visitors will meet nice Befanas who will offer them candies for their visit.

Sand Nativity Scene in Marina Centro

Life is a Work of Art
This year the sand Nativity scene is realized on the beach number 3-4 at the Turquoise Beach Club, in a larger
structure of about 900 mq.
A sand Nativity where the visitor can walk among the sculptures, side by side with the characters of the Nativity
scene.
Adjacent to the Nativity scene, there is an suggestive Craft Market with typical Christmas products.
It is exactly from Rimini that this year the sand Nativity is inspired , whose theme is "La Vita è un Opera d'Arte"
(Life is a Work of Art).
The Nativity scene is set on the shores of the Adriatic sea, in a small town crossed by a river, where an area,
inhabited mostly by peasants and fishermen, contributes to the growth of the small town by creating an "Opera
d'arte".
Suggestive sculptures that together recall ancient places and crafts almost forgotten, hundreds of tons of sand
treated only with water and sculpted with great precision.

Also this year beautiful sand sculptures are created on the beach 65 in Torre Pedrera, thanks to the work of sand
artists directed and coordinated by the Torre Pedrera Tourist Committee.
At its twelfth edition, the Nativity scene, made entirely of sand and water, will be dedicated to children.
Comic characters will appear among the scenes of the traditional Nativity.
Next to the Nativity, another structure hosts a typical market with Christmas products.
During the Christmas holidays there will be the usual bingo on the beach, and, entertainment with Santa Claus
and the Befana.
Free shuttles, round-trip, with departures every 20 minutes from the parking behind Castel Sismondo, via

A project coordinated by "Amici di Augeo" and "Associazione Papa Giovanni XXIII", which includes the exhibition
'Pinocchio' by Federico Santini, curated by Professor Marco Baldassari.
In the noble spaces of Palazzo Spina, seven unique works made on wooden, metal, glass and canvas supports, a
sculpture and a metropolitan nativity scene.
On display two installations: the first one with twenty-five drawings that narrate the events of Pinocchio created
by the second-year students of the Margherita Zoebeli elementary school. The second one by the young artist
Lorenzo Durante, "Geppetto Millenian" with the "whales" made of the "gifts of the sea".
An integral part of the project is an exclusive box set, a work of art that includes seven lithographs of Santini's
works in a numbered edition from one to ninety-nine and a book illustrated by the children, handwritten as a work
of art by Concetta Ferrario, on texts by Sergio Antolini.

'Pinocchio' by Walt Disney.
The collection will be entirely donated to the construction of 'Casa di Simone' in Nairobi, for the integration and the
growth of street children.
Monday, January 7th, Augeo Art Space opens its doors to fifty students of the secondary classes of Margherita
Zoebeli primary school. On the occasion Federico Santini will finish a deliberately unfinished work involving small
visitors in painting.
The video "La casa di Simone" will be projected and told by Stefano Vitali.
Sunday, January 13th, Augeo becomes a great virtual theater. Music is the second sense, after the sight, to be
involved. The orchestra of the cultural association Gan Eden directed by Karsten Braghittoni will play in an
extraordinary concert choreographed by Claudio Gasparotto with the participation of “Collettivo Movimento
Centrale Danza &Teatro”.

The sand Nativity scenes return in the beautiful setting of the winter sea. Life-size sculptural groups give life to
sand Nativities and spectacular Christmas sets created by sand artists.
The tradition of Christmas lives again on the beach of Rimini with giant sand Nativity scenes in Marina Centro, on
the beach in front of the Christmas village and in Torre Pedrera, at the beach 65.
The two Nativity scenes can be visited by the public from Saturday 8 December, the celebration day of the
Immaculate.
The traditional markets and a series of events will liven up the days of celebration.

Michele Munno is an Apulian artist who moved to Lombardy in adolescence and has always painted and
designed, giving priority to the analysis of nature and its organic development.
Many were his thematic phases, formal obsessions that return cyclically in his pictorial imaginary: the leaves, the
still lifes, the friends, the dolls, the birds, the house.
For this museum exhibition he chooses to re-read his production in reference to some works of the collections,

Calixto Bieito, the most Shakespearian of opera directors, brings humanism and truth in a work infested with the
sparkling images of the sea.
The ambiguities of Verdi's theater are particularly evident in his bariton roles, including that of Boccanegra, corsair
doge of Genoa and troubled observer of the conflicts that tore the landowners and the fourteenth-century
peasants.
Simon Boccanegra -an eminently political work, in which struggles for power intertwine with family conflicts-,
echoes the life of his composer, the man who defended the cause of the unification of Italy and overcame the loss
of his wife and children .

After the last summer extraordinary success in the Italian stadiums, where Negramaro achieved a dream
audience of over 175,000 people, the new tour of the band called 'Amore Che Torni Tour Indoor 2018', will be
permormed in the main Italian indoor stadiums with 14 new concerts.
Due to the health conditions of the guitarist Emanuele Spedicato, the dates have been rescheduled and in Rimini
the concert will take place on February 14th 2019 instead of November 15th 2018.
Tickets previously purchased remain valid for new dates in their respective cities.
