INCITO SCHOOLS VIRTUAL LEARNING & MITIGATION We continue to be honored to educate your child and are excited to begin the 2020-2021 school year. As we partner together to begin our virtual school year, we would like to share some additional information with you regarding our teaching and learning plan as we launch into a successful school year. Our goal is to emulate, as closely as possible, what our in- person learning looks like here at Incito Schools in order to create a successful and easy transfer for the learners when they return to the classroom. We express our sincere gratitude for our families for partnering with us as they have shown perseverance, tenacity, and grit as we have navigated new learning opportunities. We look forward to welcoming you back, in-person, in the very near future. 2
INCITO SCHOOLS VIRTUAL LEARNING & MITIGATION ATTENDANCE STANDARDS FOR VIRTUAL LEARNING: Attendance is important at Incito Schools, and Virtual Learning attendance will continue to be relevant and vital as in-person learning. Learners have the opportunity to be virtually present, daily, in whole group and small group instruction. As required by the Arizona Department of Education, Incito’s attendance standards ensure learners are virtually present. Attendance will be taken and recorded for both whole group and small group instruction. It is imperative that learners are virtually present during online sessions in order to continue their academic progress and for Incito Schools to accurately report attendance. 3
INCITO SCHOOLS VIRTUAL LEARNING & MITIGATION WHEN CAN I BRING MY LEARNER BACK TO SCHOOL? School and learning will begin on Tuesday, August 4th. Incito Schools will currently be offering virtual learning via Incito Schools Virtual Learning Lab (www.incitoschoolsvirtuallearninglab.org) and will continue to offer this virtual opportunity for the remainder of the 2020-2021 school year. With a consistently changing climate, and based on when the Governor confirms that in-person instruction may resume (currently August 17), we will continue to communicate additional details of our in-person learning opportunities. We are eager and ready to be with your learner and welcome them back to our loving, safe learning environment. 4
INCITO SCHOOLS VIRTUAL LEARNING & MITIGATION WHAT ARE THE LEARNING OPTIONS FOR THIS YEAR? At Incito Schools, we believe in doing what is best for all learners. Our goal is to have them in-person with our outstanding educators, as soon as possible, while still keeping safety in the forefront of our minds. Currently, we are planning to re-open the campus on August 17th for in-person learning per Governor Ducey's Executive Order. If you choose to keep your learner on our virtual learning track, that would mean your learner would remain in our virtual learning environment for the remainder of the 2020-2021 school year. If you choose the in-person learning track, when the campus physically opens after Governor Ducey announces that it is safe, that would mean your learner would attend in-person learning on our Incito Schools campus for the remainder of the 2020-2021 school year. The consistency in the decision making for virtual learning or in-person learning ensures the best planning scenario for the collective learner's sustainable success. 5

INCITO SCHOOLS VIRTUAL LEARNING & MITIGATION MITIGATION PLAN PURPOSE At Incito Schools, we are focused on learners achieving academically, physically and socially. As educators, our code is centered around the Education, Safety and Health of all learners. Our safety and wellness plan ensures that we have considered important aspects and behaviors that will continue to lead to a safe and nurturing learning environment. As learners occupy our building for “in-person” learning, we have outlined the following safety measures to create and maintain a successful school year. EDUCATION Incito Schools will continue to offer an enhanced learning environment through the use of Incito Schools Virtual Learning Lab platform. This platform is “home base” for families to access and navigate class information and learning content. Our programs will continue to expose learners to our engaging curriculum while maintaining fidelity to our core programs such as Singapore Math, Core Knowledge and Fountas & Pinnell. Educators have maintained a focus on monitoring learner progress and achievements will proceed to adequately assess learner growth. These achievements include common formative assessments, math and reading screeners, Galileo quarterly benchmarks, Fountas & Pinnell assessments, online progress monitoring through Zearn and Lexia, etc. Learners have access to technology to support with virtual and in-person learning, while our assigned staff is available for at home or on-site technology support based on family requests. Class sizes have been reduced to 75% capacity or less to accommodate for social distancing and individualized support. SAFETY Incito Schools facilities allow for social distancing and open spaces that include comfortable space, ventilation and cleanliness to accommodate a pleasant learning environment. In accordance to the Governor’s executive order, learners and staff will wear face coverings (shields) when appropriate. Where adequate spacing and distance is achieved, face 8
INCITO SCHOOLS VIRTUAL LEARNING & MITIGATION coverings will not be required. All visitors who visit beyond our front desk/office area will wear a face covering. Additional safety measures include staggered dismissals to space learners, continued reduction of group gatherings and events, modifications to classroom layouts to accommodate for spacing, scheduled transitions to minimize congregation of groups and frequent scheduled breaks for hand washing and cleaning of personal space/areas. Learners also will have access to personal supplies that will be sanitized and cleaned regularly throughout the day. In order to keep learners and staff safe, we have invested funds in purchasing COVID professional grade cleaning products and ensuring enhanced cleaning of all areas with these approved disinfecting cleaning solutions. Since March 2020, we have purchased and utilized additional cleaning services to deep clean all areas of the building. 9
INCITO SCHOOLS VIRTUAL LEARNING & MITIGATION HEALTH Incito’s Staff will continue to educate all learners according to the 3 W’s: • Wash your hands often with soap and water for at least 20 seconds and use hand sanitizer • Wear a face covering when appropriate • Walk 6 feet apart when number of people surrounding you increases Incito’s staff will conduct daily temperature checks for all learners and staff members physically present in the building. If a learner or staff member were to exhibit a fever over 100 degrees, the person will be escorted directly to the nurse’s office. The temperature will be taken 2 more times, for validity, and appropriate contacts will be made. Consistent communication will be made with the learner’s family and a series of health questions and screenings will take place prior to the learner returning to school. If a staff member were to become ill, he/she will communicate with Incito’s administration and appropriate human resource procedures will be followed. In accordance with state and local laws and regulations, school administration will notify local health officials, staff and families of any direct cases of COVID-19 (if defined as an outbreak according to AZDHS) while maintaining confidentiality in accordance with the American with Disabilities Act. (ADA) Incito Schools will continue to monitor and consider the Data Dashboard and the School Benchmarks as compiled by the Arizona Department of Health Services (https://www.azdhs.gov/index.php) as well as information received from the Governor and Arizona Department of Education. 10
