USING YOUR GIFTS TO TRANSFORM THE WORLD 2020-2021 January 3, 2021 Message from the Principal Happy 2021, Cardinal Families! I hope you’re all looking forward to a new year with renewed hope that our future is going to be bright! I am so excited about what this upcoming year will bring to our students. We’ve got lots of new programs, initiatives, and enhancements that we’ll be sharing over the coming weeks that we believe will continue to move us toward new educational opportunities that we can explore due to this pandemic. The bright side is that we’ve all learned so much about what we can do as a school; we can take advantage of a crisis to make new and lasting changes to the way we do education at Cardinal Charter Academy. To ensure that you’re a part of these exciting changes, please go online tomorrow and recommit your child’s spot for next year. Consistency in our Cardinal family is so important and we want to see each of you back here next year! You should receive an email tomorrow with a link for reenrollment as well as instructions. If you don’t receive this email or if you need help, please reach out to our Enrollment Manager Matt Luxen- berg; we’re happy to assist to ensure that all our families get their seats reserved for the 2021-2022 school year. Aftercare will be starting up again in January for those families who wish to enroll. There’s a link here in the newsletter to sign up. The YMCA will be running it, but it will be here on campus each afternoon from 2:45 until 6:00. Safety Patrol will also be resuming for students in grades 4-8 who wish to help out with carpool. There’s an application, a permission form, and a grade-check form that will be distributed later this week. Students who are interested are encouraged to participate; it’s a great way to ensure that they’re setting a good ex- ample for our younger students and helping to keep our campus safe. Parents who wish to change their child’s current learning environment from at-home to in-person learning for Quarter 3 can fill out a new survey. The link is provided in this newsletter. This information is due Janu- ary 15. Remember that parents may elect for their student to learn from home at any time. This new year is bringing extra vigilance from our Cardinal staff in order to keep your child and our staff members safe. Masks will continue to be worn at all times. Social distancing will be enforced as much as possible. Hand washing will be a priority. Sanitization of all spaces will be done several times a day. We’ve got to work together to protect one another. Please make sure you are communicating this message at home as well. If you traveled over the break or feel that your child or your family may have been exposed, we encourage you to learn from home as long as you need to in order to keep us all safe. I’m excited to start this new year, Cardinals! Let’s have a great week of school! Becky Draper, Ed.D. Principal ©2021 CCA PTC Cary.
