President Kenyatta reminds KIE LAUNCHES

Industrial Estates (KIE) for its transformation
saying the parastatal has embraced the
change that has positively impacted the SME sector.
“KIE has undertaken a thorough review of
its policies, procedures and processes aimed at
transforming it into a more responsive and customer-
centric organization to champion and accelerate the
growth of SMEs in Kenya.
“The parastatal emerged seventh-best performing
government institution in the recent Public Service
Performance Management Unit ranking which
underscores a remarkable turnaround for KIE.” CS
Maina said.
The Cabinet Secretary spoke on Thursday at the
parastatal’s Head offices in Nairobi Industrial Area
when she presided over the official launch of KIE’s
new corporate brand identity.
“Today marks a commendable milestone in the
story of KIE which not only reflects the internal
change the organization has been undergoing but
also demonstrates a fresh, re-energized and new
approach to serving Kenyan Micro, Small and
Medium Enterprises,” CS Maina said.
Kenya Industrial Estates was formed in 1967 as a
development financial institution with a mandate of
spearheading Industrialization across the country
through the development of SMEs by providing
enterprises in manufacturing with industrial
workspaces, affordable credit finance, Business
Advisory Services and facilitation of linkages in its 37
branches spread across the country.
The agency’s Board of Directors Chairperson Mr.
Mugambi Imanyara also spoke at the ceremony. He
said the new identity was a culmination of a journey of
transformation that involved an entire review of KIE’s
operations, a total refocus on customers’ needs and a
completely new approach to service delivery to SMEs
across Kenya.
