1 2 3 4 5 From the Desk of the Superintendent INTRODUCTION On behalf of the Celina ISD Board of Trustees and our entire Bobcat family, I want to welcome everyone back to school for the 2021-2022 school year. If you are new to Celina, you have chosen to raise your children in a community rich with tradition and a commitment to ABOUT US INTRODUCTION OUR SERVICES OUR SCHOOLS ATHLETICS taking care of one another. In 1896, the Alla School was founded by Dr. and Mrs. Moses Hubbard and a two- story building was erected and named after their daughter Alla. At that time, only those who could afford tuition attended school, and the Alla School was built so that learning was available to all 108 students who lived in the district. In 1906, Dr. Hubbard passed away, leaving over 1000 acres of land with the understanding that funds generated from the leasing of the land be used to continue the school and to promote education. In 1923, the Alla School District built a larger two-story building on “Alla Hill” in 1923, and this is now the site of the current Celina High School. The Alla School District consolidated with TABLE OF CONTENTS Celina Independent School District in 1958, and our district continues this unique relationship with the Hubbard Trust for the sole purpose of supporting Celina ISD and our students. For years, Celina residents have talked about the growth coming to our city, and certainly new schools demonstrate that the growth is not just coming soon, it is now here. This past January Celina ISD broke ground on our new middle school campus, which is targeted to open 11 School Immunization Clinic 10 Vaccination Information 15 O’Dell Elementary 14 Lykins Elementary 12 Celina Primary 22 High School, CTE 20 Celina Junior High 33 Substitute Information, My School Bucks 7 9 Special Education, Telehealth 8 Emergency Care, Transportation 24 Varsity Scheules, Sports Camps, Athletics 23 Tailgating 22 Stadium Rules, Stadium Map 4 2 Table of Contents 3 From the Desk of the Superintendent 5 6 in the fall of 2022. Because of the exponential growth within our district School Calendar Contact Information Summer Hours, School Hours, Board Frequently Asked Questions boundary, we will be opening our third elementary school in 2023, and we anticipate opening new schools throughout the next decade as well as an addition to our high school. As our district grows, so too will our need for new busses, technology resources, software, and renovations/ additions to existing facilities. Funds for these facilities and resources were approved in our last bond election in 2019. 1 Celina ISD is “Home to the Bobcats,” which carries much tradition and pride throughout our community. We pride ourselves on the partnership we have with our city leaders as we continue a long history of working together to address each challenge we face as an opportunity. We are committed to the responsibility we share to enhance the truly unique facets of our community as we welcome new Bobcats to our schools. We believe that Dr. Hubbard would be very proud that the district he helped create continues to be committed to taking care of the children and families of Celina. True connection is about taking care of one another, and may the legacy of Dr. Hubbard and his family remind us all how our own actions and generosity can serve entire generations of children for years to come. 2 3
