GOALS • Continue getting to know each other • Communicate program updates and financial information • Communicate our constants and commitments and how to prepare for the upcoming year • Prepare for orientation and course registration • Hear from you!
CONSTANTS & COMMITMENTS • The Justice, Equity, Diversity, Inclusion (JEDI) lens applied & practiced throughout the program • The design principle of a cycle of theory and practice • The opportunity to apply learning in meaningful ways • High-quality academic coursework in partnership with the University of Washington • The development of a Professional Learning Community • Keeping the safety & health of all community members (grads, staff, students, etc.) at the forefront of design decisions
WHAT WE KNOW RIGHT NOW • All graduate students and Ed Team staff have been vaccinated. • The majority of the program will be in-person, with masking expected under certain circumstances. • We are regularly monitoring and providing updates on COVID in the area. • You will be participating in an in-person mentored teaching practicum, observing and delivering IslandWood educational programming. • School Overnight Program is filling for Winter and Spring quarters (January – June 2022). Capacity limits following state regulations and school district guidance.

Much will depend on district policies around field trips and COVID transmission rates in the area.
ONGOING CONSIDERATIONS • Professional Learning Community – decisions based on community needs. • Valued Mindsets - navigating uncertainties requires a lot of patience, flexibility, and grace as the world changes around us. • Year of Transition – lots of learning on how to operate during the current health crisis, this will continue to be a transition through the upcoming year. • Ongoing Change - scheduling and expectations may change from quarter to quarter. Participation will require flexibility and adaptability.
