To give a brief description of the NEQAS-CC Program for 2016 To update the clinical laboratory participants about the changes in the 2016 NEQASS-CC Program 2016 NEQAS-CC Objectives To assist clinical laboratory participants on how RIQAS online is used with regards to: Registration Configuration Submission of Results On-line Troubleshooting
2016 NEQAS-CC Monthly Program PROCESS FLOW NEQAS Registration of Contract and Bidding Participants NEQAS sample Process (April-May: DM orders (Jan-Mar ) deadline) (June) SUBMISSION RANDOX) of Monthly Start of the ORIENTATION Results NEQAS-CC OF via on-line Program PARTICIPANTS (*July-June) (August: Testing of (July-August) www.riqas.net) the samples) STATISTICAL DISCLOSURE SELF- ANALYSIS of Monthly and End EVALUATION (RIQAS 9128) of Cycle NEQAS- -Review of reports By Randox CC Reports to -Perform corrective Participants action if needed
Changes: Cycle Delivery of Samples 2016 NEQAS-CC Monthly Program Schedule of Deadlines Randox- Reports and RIQAS9128 Guidelines Certification
One year cycle = 12 monthly Cycle RIQAS 9128 consists of: Cycle Cycle 13B – July to December 2016 Cycle 14 A – January to June 2017
2 batches: Delivery 1st batch of delivery Cycle 13B of July-August 2016 Samples 2nd batch of delivery Cycle 14A November 2016
Stability- Lyophilized Once reconstituted, viable for 2 days 2016 NEQAS-CC Samples
Deadline is last Monday of the Month “Late result” will NOT be Submission accepted and included in the of Results statistical data, an email will be sent giving the average of Schedule the comparator group instead of Deadlines Please DO NOT beat the deadline mentioned so as to have an allowance for any changes
Corrected results may be accepted, up to 4 weeks after the final date, Submission but ONLY for transcription errors of Results A lab wishing to submit a corrected result must Schedule complete a request form of Deadlines and submit the analyser print out as an evidence that a transcription error was made
All results are processed by RIQAS within 24 – 72 hours of the Final Date deadline Reports Based on Standard and Deviation Guidelines Participants can quickly appraise their own performance, in comparison with that of other laboratory participants
Reports and Guidelines
Text Section: Levey Jennings Chart: Contains all the Shows performance statistical with time information Target Scoring Chart: Provides a visualization of a Lab’s Target Scores Histogram: % Deviation by Provides a method Sample Chart: and instrument Helps to identify trends and shifts in comparison performance Multi Method Stat % Deviation by Section: Concentration Chart: Enables assessment Provides a rapid of the performance assessment of of each method concentration related biases
Solid vertical line: Change in registration Method Instrument Reagent supplier Unit of measurement
Text Section N: Number of results used to generate the mean Mean: The average result, based on a consensus CV%: Coefficient of Variation Um: Uncertainty of the Mean SDPA: Standard Deviation for Performance Assessment Exc.: Excluded results (outliers)
This contains a summary of your performance ―Your Result ― Mean for Comparison ― Indicators of Performance Standard Deviation Index (SDI) Target Score (TS) % Deviation (%DEV) Various Running Mean Indices (RM)
Histogram: Provides group comparison All Method Group Your Method Group Your Instrument Group Your Result
Target Score Chart Excellent Good Acceptable Need for improvement Unacceptable Target Score Sample Number
This provides a numerical index of performance and allows participants to assess performance at a glance Target Target Score (TS) Interpretation: 101-120 Excellent Score 71-100 Good 51-70 Acceptable 41-50 Needs Improvement 10-40 Unacceptable
a black dot within the white section represents results within the acceptable limits of performance The black dots represent the % Dev of each reported result The white circles represent the RM%Dev at each time point, and will help to identify any distinct trends And a black dot within one of the red sections represents results outside the acceptable limits of performance
% Deviation by Concentration Chart: Current sample indicated by the square The circles represent previous samples at different concentrations
check first the Summary page (located at the back of the RIQAS report) to assess your performance for the most recent sample Look for red triangle ( ), focus your investigations on these analytes Remember The triangle will only appear when all limits are exceeded: SDI >2 Target Score < 50 % Deviation > Acceptable limits of performance
For the LJ and Target score charts: Shading indicates performance, The lighter the shading, the more accurate the results Remember % Deviation, which indicates by what percentage the laboratory’s result deviates from the mean for comparison
Requirements: Certificate of at least Participation four (4) sample results to the for cycle 13B, and 2016 NEQAS four (4) sample results for cycle 14A
Certificate of Participation At least six (6) out of on Randox- the 12 samples Riqas
AO 2007-0027: Secondary Category : Routine Clinical Chem – Gluc, BUN, UA, Crea, Total Cholesterol Please do not beat the Remember deadline given so as to have allowance for any changes Always update your e-mail account and the contact person
