Introduction The Underground Cookery School was set up in the summer of 2003 to offer a fun and relaxed way to learn how to cook. With our experienced brigade of fully trained chefs, our classes take you through the whole cooking process, from choosing ingredients to understanding things like textures and consistencies. Our classes are for everyone, from total beginners to budding masterchefs – the aim is to improve your cooking skills from whatever level they’re at, and for you to enjoy it! Without taking ourselves too seriously, we’ll show you all the tools of the trade – like knife skills, pasta making, butchery and presentation, So you’ll know how to give even the simplest dish a dash of professional flare. The Underground Cookery Challenge Take on the Challenge and your party is split into teams. Each is given a cash budget and a list of ingredients. They then have to source their products and ingredients from market traders and retailers, come back and cook our recipe. Oh, and all against the clock. The champion team voted by our own Underground chefs will get our famous gold medal (the bottom team, our wooden spoon).
