kerrycollege.ie What Media Projects? The media projects that you will work on will be mixed and varied in nature. While the majority of the projects will be undertaken “on location” somewhere in the wilds of Kerry, others will be studio based at our state of the art digital media centre at our Kerry College, Monavalley Campus. The primary areas of media production will be video, photography, sound and Examples Of Media Projects: design. All projects will be real-world • Travel & Tourism projects that will respond to the needs • Living & Lifestyle of a client. They will have a defined end • Documentary use and their production will be driven • Mobile Journalism (MoJo) by a deadline. • Nature & The Environment (Mountains/Rivers/Lakes) • Music & Entertainment • Live Events (Sports/Festivals/Events) • Outdoor Activities (Surfing/Kayaking/Climbing, Mountain Biking/Fishing) 4

kerrycollege.ie What Media Roles? Edi tin We will be recruiting 9 media interns in total, each of whom will work as part g of a three person media production team. Each intern will have a defined role within the team. kerrycollege.ie What Will I Experience? First and foremost, you will experience what it will feel like to work in a key position within a media production team. You will gain an understanding of what it takes to successfully operate in a real- world working environment. You and your team will be based in our pro- grade media production facility with full access to a range of industry standard equipment. Based on your teams projects needs you will have access to our fully TV Studio/ Photographic Studio, Sound Recording Studio, Radio Studios or Design and Post-Production labs. You will be mentored throughout your internship. You will of course also experience the freedom and exhilaration that comes with living and working in Kerry. 7

Typically, employers need graduates who have both theoretical awareness and practical skills. Having a range of professional production credits and a portfolio that showcases real- world project work with real clients improves your chances of getting hired. 12
kerrycollege.ie Other Information Dates • Start Date June 14th 2021. • Duration 12 Weeks. What Is the cost? • There are no fees payable for this experience. • Some applicants may be eligible for funding supports such as a Training Allowance. Hours Monday – Thursday: 8.30am – 4.30pm. Friday: 8.30am – 1.00pm. As the needs of individual projects may extend beyond these working hours, a high degree of flexibility will be required from interns in relation to working hours. This may on occasion include weekend work. Certification Level 6 Certificate in Professional Development (6N1949).
