LAFAYETTE CHRISTIAN SCHOOL In Our Community LCS Robotics Club brings home 2nd place at the regional competition. Mrs. Plantenga, Mrs. Vanderwall, and Mrs. Mrs. Vanderkleed, Mrs. Tuinstra, and The Inaugural LCS Service Club, spent the Tuinstra received an award from the Indiana Mrs. Bollock received a grant from the year serving others by helping at a food Council for Economic Education. LAFAYETTE CHRISTIAN SCHOOL In Our Halls MS Science Fair Mrs. O'Shaughnessey, our MS science teacher, arranged for several professionals in the science field to come be judges for our science fair. Students spent the day outside learning about 5th Grade Ecosystems. New Chromebooks donated by force, motion, friction, and bike safety. Brooks & Kristi Snyder, owners 4th Grade Famous Hoosier Tea Party. 'Amelia of Apollos Water Earhart', 'Jim Gaffigan', and 'Larry Bird' were a few of the attendees. 2nd Grade Igloo. During their arctic study, the 1st Grade Readers Theatre of students created an igloo while also studying A House for a Hermit Crab. math skills like graphing the cap colors.

LAFAYETTE CHRISTIAN SCHOOL Celebration of Faith "Oh, the Places You'll Go" was the theme of the Celebration of Faith Dinner held in the LCS gym on April 28, 2018. Guests enjoyed a delicious dinner and heard testimonies of where God has taken a few LCS alumni. Patrick Gray (2000) shared how LCS helped shape him for life as a missionary in Thailand, and Ron Blue (1956) shared via video how LCS helped form the foundation from which he launched a successful financial advising career. Guests also learned what current LCS students want to be when they grow up. Their future careers ranged from engineers and doctors to Superman and guinea pig rescuers. Guests then participated in a live maker's auction, bidding on a variety of creations from LCS students and local artists and makers. The auction and donations brought in over $75,000 for the school. LAFAYETTE CHRISTIAN SCHOOL Technology 2017-2018 is the first year of the LCS Chromebook Initiative. Because of two generous donors, we have met both year 1 and year 2 goals all in the first year! Four-Year Chromebook Initiative Year 1: 60 Chromebooks for 5th & 6th grade + charging cart Year 2: 30 Chromebooks for 3rd & 4th grade + charging cart Year 3: 30 Chromebooks for 7th grade + charging cart Year 4: 30 Chromebooks for 8th grade + charging cart Equipping classrooms with Chromebooks allows us to free up the computer lab for lower elementary and other classes. Teachers say ... Summer To-Do List "Being able to quickly access the Chromebooks in class for a lesson is much (1) update the tables in the more time-efficient than going to the lab." computer lab (2) install wall-mounted projectors in remaining classrooms (3) equip the commons area with a dedicated projector computer, and speaker system (4) updating our school phone system

Welcome Mrs. Leslie Sutton joins LCS as the new Music Teacher/Director. She is the founding director/creator of Summer Worship Arts & Music Program. She is an energetic and organized educator with a degree in Voice Performance and Music Education from DePauw University. She has six nearly-all-grown children and twin granddaughters.
