The Stitchers’ Voice Volume 10, Issue 8 – August 2018 August begins with the final days of the first Mystery Stitch Bingo event on The Stitchers’ Village. The 30 day event began on July 5 with the first of 25 sections of the mystery cross stitch chart being posted in the group of the TSV community. After the last of the 25 sections was posted on Sunday, July 29, partici- pants have 5 days to post a picture of any stitched portion of the chart in the community to be entered into drawings for prizes. Sandy W. was the grand prize winner as she was the first to post a picture of the chart completely stitched. August is also the final month of the Collective Stitch cross stitch event. The theme this year is Winter and there is a lovely selection of designs created for the event. Details at: collectivestitch.com I am preparing to attend the Kansas Stitchers retreat this weekend. It is held in Valley Falls, KS and there will be 48 in attendance. This is my second time at the retreat. Last year, I actually learned some- thing new. Pam from Wichita taught me the pin stitch. This is an excellent method to start and stop your threads on a project. I am very grateful for her patience and persistence in teaching this to me. I look forward to the weekend. Now, I am trying to decide what projects I will take to work on over the weekend. My stitching “to do” list is long - I must prioritize. I am stitching the September Mystery Stitch Bingo design. I guess I could get away with saying I am stitching a Rosewood Manor and not be specific. Don’t want to give any clues for the September event! If you have any suggestions of activities you would like to see on TSV, please let me know. As always, Happy Stitching! The Stitchers’ Village Newsletter Volume 10, Issue 8 August 2018 Page 2 Mystery Stitch Bingo These events are Bingo combined with a mystery stitch and contest. Each game will run for 30 days. The chart for the mystery stitch will be divided into 25 squares. Each day, 1 (20x20) square will be posted. After all 25 have been posted, the first person to post a photo of the completely stitched chart in the community of TSV, will be the grand prize winner. All other participants will have 5 days to post a picture of any of the project stitched. These participants will be put into a drawing for additional prizes. Note that on some days during the event, a pop-up prize will be announced when the chart is posted. Everyone is eligible for the grand prize, but a person may win only one of the pop-up games during the event. Everyone who posts a picture of any of the sections dur- ing the event which runs for 5 days after the last section is posted, will be put into a drawing for some additional prizes. The game is being presented in The Community of The Stitchers’ Village. It is the password protected area of the site. To register and join the best needlework community, go to: https://stitchersvillage.com/village Once you have registered and signed in, choose “Groups” from the community menu toolbar and then the current “Mystery Stitch Bingo” group. The next game will begin September 1. There, the pdf files will be posted and you will post photos of your stitching and any comments/discussion. The sections should be of a size that you would be able to catch up if you miss a day or two. The floss list will be posted in the group prior to the start of the game. A fabric recommendation may or may not be given depending on the designer preference. Questions or suggestions? Email pattytsv@gmail.com This is a diagram showing how the chart will be divided to mimic a bingo B1 I6 N11 G16 O21 card (note that each square is 20 stitch- es x 20 stitches).
