We make a living by what we get, but we make a life by what we give. - Winston Churchill Our November meeting was a HUGE success with approximately 130 people attending the movie. Thank you to our Meetings and Entertainment Director Mark Harris, the board and members who helped promote, work at and attended. It was so good to see how by working together we can show how AWESOME the Sitzmark Ski Club of Milwaukee truly is. Other November thanks go to: Jonathan Rydz for hosting the 1st Mexican food night of the season. Bueno comida! Lyle Strahota for introducing a first-time event at the Axe MKE Throwing Bar - happy to say all throwers remained safe. Dawn for inviting the ladies to join her at Laacke & Joys for this year’s Ladies Night. The Bronsons, who hosted the rescheduled dinner at Parkside 23 - plenty of conversing, laughter and good dining going on that night. It is December and time to form a Nominating Committee to begin the process of looking for next year’s board. Please let me know if you would be willing to serve on this committee. The board has made some changes and the incorporation papers will now state that the instead of having ten directors on the board it will have between eight and ten directors. In the past few years, we have not had the need for ten directors. The other change will be to allow a person to run for president for up to two consecutive one-year terms. Previously, a person could only run for one consecutive one-year term. I invite all members to attend our Christmas meeting and party on Friday, December 7. We will have our own DJ Tom Gale providing music and karaoke. So get out that Christmas attire, bring your singing voices and partake in the Sitzmark holiday spirit. For those on the Vail trip, it is the day before we leave so it is a good time for those skiers to come and meet your fellow travelers. Hope to see you out and about having fun, meeting people and sharing the good news of the Sitzmark Ski Club. MERRY CHRISTMAS!!! Santa Cycle Rampage • Saturday, December 1 Wear your best (or worst) Santa or elf costume! The Santa Cycle Rampage started 16 years ago with a handful of people who rode their bikes all year. We had a fun ride in the winter and it encouraged other people to try riding in the winter. Today, lots of people ride all year, which may be one reason why the Santa Cycle Rampage now attracts hundreds of people and has even spun-off other SantaSitCycle zmaRampage rides as far away as Boston.Du rk G eTo=I$20; rou pN Registration Fees: Bike Fed members nc non-members o = $35; lem tM enor To register: www.bfw.org/events/santa-cycle-rampage tW eeAnn contact tinKammerer at ann_ e a g kammerer@yahoo.com or call 414.258.9293 th er 9 am: Sitzmarks gather a half block SOUTH of the intersection of 69th and North Ave. 9:30 am: Ride leaves from Cranky Al’s at 69th and North Ave. 10:30 am: Ride ends at Lakefront Brewery, 1872 N Commerce St. (open to Santa and his helpers from 10 am – 12 pm) In the past, we have ridden to other taverns embracing the event, back to Wauwatosa. The first Meet-up for Mexican food at Su Casa was a great experience. Now it’s time for someone to volunteer to schedule another event! The club is sponsoring three more events at your favorite Mexican restaurant, and is chipping in (pardon the pun) for the first $50 (you’re on your own for drinks). At the first event, we bought appetizers for the entire gang and didn’t hit $50! Let’s descend on three more places for some authentic dishes from south of the border: Enchiladas, tostadas, burritos as big as your head, chips and salsa, and enough arroz y frijoles (rice and refried beans) to satisfy anyone! Mexican is many people’s favorite type of restaurant, and there are a lot of great Mexican restaurants around here to choose from, and any event held at any of them are guaranteed to be a lot of fun. Send in your choice for favorite Mexican Restaurant to Social Director Jean Bronson at social@sitzmark.org.
