Page 2 2020 CHRISTMAS RUN 13TH DECEMBER 2020 – 10.15 AM AT CLUB ROOMS The Club Committee has been working around a Christmas Run for 2020 that will bring the maximum club partici- pation and still be COVID-19 compliant. This has proven challenging with numerous roadblocks such as unexpected Covid-19 lockdowns, restrictions and such. However now that these are lifting it would seem possible to move forward with the event. The Club has been issued with a SA Heath QR Code which members should scan using their smart phones when arriving. If you do not yet have a mobile it may seem prudent to consider one as this type of sign-in will become the norm. Registering on arrival is a legal expectation moving forward and QR Code is preferred. A paper sign-in will also be available if needed but you must use your own biro. Members are reminded that if they feel unwell in any way, have been in contact with anyone unwell or recently returned from overseas we request that they do not attend. The club is planning a metropolitan run that would leave the club rooms about 10.30am and return about 12-15pm ready for a BBQ lunch. Run sheet on the day. Plan to arrive at 10.15 to sign on the Clubs Run Sheet and the COVID-19 QR Code. The COVID-19 level has been reduced at the Glandore facility such that we will be able, within strict guidelines, to access the BBQ and also have limited access to the clubroom kitchen oven. To remain COVID-19 compliant the club will supply all meats (sausages/patties/chicken skewers) 3 salads, sauce, onions, bread and butter for members to enjoy. Unfortunately shared salads are not possible this year. The club will offer cans of soft drinks/water as well. If you have any dietary constraints please bring your own food to suit. Festive beverages (in moderation of course) are also welcome but must not be shared. Members will need to bring their own plates, bowls, cups and cutlery. The dining will be outside so BYO chair and table plus some portable shade if its hot. Whilst David and Coral Westley generously agreed to prepare a run this year unfortunately they were already committed on the date that AAA Club has access to the Club Rooms at Glandore and so the run dates would not work out. We thank them for their offer anyway and maybe next year?? RSVP your attendance for catering purposes on or before 8 December please: Email: aaaclubsecretary@outlook.com Text: Charlie: 0417 878 857

Page 10 STAYING COVID SAFE As everyone knows Covid-19 has been a dynamic situation with some large strides forward and a couple of side steps added. Our Club is registered with SA Health for a COVID-19 Plan and this keeps the club well informed of the expectations for meetings, gatherings and the like. On 1st December we received our QR Code which is unique to the AAA Club and should be scanned by members when signing on for the Club Run Sheets. This is the preferred tracking system implemented by SA Health. Members are encouraged to visit the SA Health COVID-19 Page and download the SA COVID-19 Tracking App. The link will take you directly to the App Store relevant to your type of device and allow you to download it. After the first use you have a 30 second verification step and after that it recognises all SA Health COVID-19 QR symbols and will receipt you for each site sign in. It is free, efficient and the best way we can eliminate Covid-19 from our state and return to a new “normal”. The AAA COVID-19 Plan is based around our use of the Clarke Hall at Glandore which is larger than the CCC Room and at pre- sent allows 40 persons inside with social distancing of 1 per 4 metres. Moving forward at this stage we plan to use the Clarke Hall for General Meetings where possible Like us, the CCC have a plan for the Combine Car Club Rooms and subsequently they also have a unique QR Code. Due to room size their plan allows only 20 persons to be present within the Glandore Rooms at any time. The CCC Club Rooms can accommodate committee meetings in the main area, with hygiene provisions observed. Depending on the nature of the gathering or meeting we will display the AAA code or the CCC code as needed. As restrictions are lifted we expect the numbers for each plan to gradually increase. With regard to all meetings, gatherings and runs starting the following is to be noted: Sign-on to site using QR code wherever displayed. Shared food is banned The BBQ is closed to general use unless part of a COVID-19 sanctioned plan The kitchen is only able to be accessed by two parties One person can enter the facility to access our store room only. The Public Toilets on the Glandore grounds are the only toilets available The time demands to maintain the Covid-19 status is very significant. Any changes that are made on the media are followed up usually by email to the registered responsible party who then needs read, understand its impact, establish means to im- plement the regime and share the findings. I highly commend Brian and Cynthia Davey who are managing this on behalf of the CCC as they also share all relevant data with the CCC “Family” as soon as updates occur, which is very frequent. NEW MEMBERS JOINING OUR CLUB Your committee has recognised that as we are presently unable to hold General Meetings due to Covid19 restrictions the existing process to join our club is temporarily un-manageable. The usual requirement is 2 General Meetings and to participate in 1 Run. With no regular General Meetings possible the committee has put in place the following temporary measure until restrictions are lifted: Motion: “As Covid-19 has prevented the Club from holding General Meetings, the committee has agreed that until COVID-19 has passed New Members need to attend 2 Authorised Club Runs to qualify for membership” Motion Moved, Seconded and passed unanimously 22 Sept
Page 11 LOG BOOKS AND OUR NEW HISTORIC REGISTRAR I am pleased to let members know that the Club has a new Historic Registrar. Tony Kester has filled this role on the new committee. We wel- come Tony to the Committee. Please support and assist Tony as much as you are able. Remember that Tony is new to this role. Past Regis- trars are mentoring him so that he is able to gain a firm understanding of the Log Book system. There is no plan to change the postage Log Book Renewal system until the Club resumes regular Post-Covid19 General meetings. Postage is reliable, convenient and efficient for all involved. All Log Books need to be stamped by the Club. This should happen: when the yearly subscriptions are paid to show that you are a financial member and again when the registration for the vehicle covered by the log book is renewed. Send your Log Book, your paid registration papers and the receipt to show the new expiry date. In each instance post your Log Book/s to Tony for processing. You need to enclose a Stamped Self Addressed envelope for its return. Note that Australia Post will only allow 1 log book per envelope so separate items for each log book will be needed. Post to: Tony Kester, Registrar PO Box 405, Woodside SA 5244 Tel: 0417 889 231 Attendance at Tony’s residence, nor for that matter any of our Historic Vehicle Assistant Registers, is not appropriate. Likewise there is no need to have this actioned at a General Meeting. Postage is preferred. Direct any enquiries on these matters to myself for clarification if needed. Your support and assistance is appreciated. Shane OLD CAR DAY BETHANY OVAL 1 SEPTEMBER 2020
