The Lowestoft Dog Agility Display Team The longest established Dog Display Team in the UK! Entertaining audiences since 1964 Factsheet 2019 www.lowestoftdogteam.co.uk The A Team - combined factsheet 2019 - Version 03 - 24/01/2019
The Lowestoft Dog Agility Display Team www.lowestoftdogteam.co.uk Arena Requirements In order to carry out a safe and effective display we require a minimum amount of space, but prefer to have more if possible. Access is required for one car and the equipment trailer to a point within, or immediately adjacent to, the arena. Our preference is for the trailer and perhaps the towing vehicle to remain within, and across one end of, the arena for the duration of the display or until the end of arena activities. Our displays are best viewed from both sides and across the end opposite to our trailer. Some of the equipment is rather heavy and we prefer to minimise the distance it is carried. On site parking spaces will also be needed for up to 12 team members’ vehicles, a position in the shade would be appreciated if at all possible. The minimum arena dimensions are 45 m X 25 m (150 ft X 80 ft) The trailer and towing vehicle are 8.3 metres long, 1.7 m wide & 2.36 m high. If there is a height barrier at the venue, the trailer needs sufficient clearance. Our displays are of 30 minutes duration and we need around 10 minutes before our display to set up the same to break down after. If doing two displays on any day we prefer to be able to stow our equipment around the edges of the arena if possible. The arena should have a reasonably smooth grass surface and have barriers around or be roped-off to keep the audience clear of the dogs and handlers, who will be moving rather quickly at certain times during the routine. We do not want any accidents to dogs, handlers or members of the public! Commentary We provide a lively and entertaining commentary with our displays and can supply our own portable PA system if required. If your event has PA covering the venue it would be preferable for us to use that. If there is a radio microphone (or a fixed mike at a suitable vantage point – our commentator needs to see the whole arena) so much the better. We also request that, as much asis possible, any other noises, such as loud music or sudden sharp noises, be constrained for the duration of the display(s). Insurance & Safety The team has public liability insurance, a copy of which along with our Risk Assessment will be available for event organisers. Copies of these documents will always accompany the equipment trailer. The team will have with them at events both First Aid and Hygiene Kits as well as Fire Extinguishers (Water type) and additional water in containers for the prevention of fire spreading to grass from fire jumps. All of the team handlers carry “poo bags” to clean up should there be any “accidents”. We had a great time watching the display you must all work very hard to get to this standard. The public and all competitors so enjoy your displays and all are impressed at the standard of training to get your dogs to complete all their events. Doubtless one of our 'star turns' last year, and I know you will be again this year You supplied us last year with a very entertaining and much liked show, we are in the process of organising the date of our village fete for this year, and would like you to attend again.
