Clubs Tanzania 2019 This year saw the launch of our student-run school newspaper, Thames Times. In October 2019 a team of 20 Year 10 and 11 pupils travelled to Musoma, As we enter our 21st year, The editorial team switched seamlessly to online editions during lockdown. Gabriel joined Thames from a specialist dyslexic school in C r e a t i v e Arts Year 7. He benefited from Thames’ small classes and personal attention and his confidence gradually grew. An imaginative ART writer, Gabriel attained 9 GCSEs including 9s in English Language and Literature, Religious Studies, History and James’ Scottish Landscape won first prize in the KS3 2D category of the ISA London Art and 7s in Biology and Geography. This represents a West Art Competition qualifying him for the national finals where he was runner up. huge Value Add of 3.3 grades. Speakers/visitors 2019-2020 DRAMA Rt Hon Tom Brake MP Emi, Year 11, was offered places at both ArtsEd and The Brit School to study Theatre Aisha Jawando, actress playing Tina in The Tina Turner Musical and Chantae, Year 11, will study Musical Theatre at London College of Performing Lana Vasquez, Life Impact International Arts. Both girls developed their talents by playing lead roles in our annual musicals. Pastor Alex Gyasi MBE, The Highway House Homeless Shelter S P O R T As part of their unit on pantomime, Year 9 enjoyed Cinderella at New Wimbledon Loc k d o w n O pport u n i t i e s Sergeant Lamoye Leslie, Army Cadets Theatre, particularly as Mrs Alice Burnett, director of our last three Thames musicals, Pad Pax, success and life coach Jimmy won Silver at the Wandsworth Schools U15 Cross Country and represented was a member of the cast.
