Howell Lodge #2515 12th Edition 2017 Howell Lodge #2515 6th Edition 2019 A Message From the Exalted Ruler Dear Members: The month of May has been a great one for the Lodge. On May 27, Memorial Day, the lodge participated with the Ramtown Fire company in a Memorial Day service, in which to honor those who have given their lives for us. Thank you to Mike Pasnick, PER in helping to present a wreath. We then marched in the Farmingdale parade with members, Antlers and Grand Children. Special thanks to Sal Da Paola, PER for organizing the parade. All marchers were treated to a BBQ back at the lodge after the parade. Special thanks to Greg Scarlato, and Mike & Laurie Pasnick, for cooking. On Saturday June 1st, I had the privilege to attend the Scout ceremony for Carlos who achieved the rank of eagle scout. The New Jersey State Elks held the annual convention in Wildwood. I attended the meeting in which the lodge received a 3rd place plaque in the All-American contest. We marched in the parade on Saturday. A special thanks to Peggy Berry, PDD, parade chairperson. Special thanks to Toni Crispino- Gusk ,Greg Gusk, Anne and Ed LeSchack, and Carol and Pete Borucki for all their hard work in making the convention a success. On Friday June 14, at 6:30pm we had our Flag day ceremony. Once again, we were joined by members from Lakewood & Jackson Elks. Special thanks to all the officers, members and guests for attending. Thank you to the Ramtown fire company for displaying the American flag during the ceremony. Many thanks to PERs, Mike Pasnick, Greg Scarlato, Pete & Carol Borucki, and Dan Haupt for cooking the hamburgers & hotdogs. Also, at 8:00pm that night, the winner of the super 50/50 was called and congratulations to member Tom S for winning the prize which was $1942.50. We held out Batter Up Saturday June 22, and I would like to thank Nick Tsoukalis for all his hard work. On Sunday June 23rd I along with the PER ASSOCATION did a Funeral service for PER, Ronald J Van Alstyne (Sarge) Special thanks to PDDs Peggy and Ryland Berry for making it a special service for the family.
Finally, I would like to thank the members for allowing me to represent our lodge as your Exalted Ruler during the Grand Lodge Convention in St. Louis. He will be deeply missed and never forgotten. “To Our Absent Member” Thank you to everyone who has submitted their dues. At this time, we still have 28 delinquent members. Please remit your dues as soon as possible, so that you do not miss any upcoming events at the lodge. Reminder: Lodge meetings for the summer months are as follows: July 18 & August 15. If you are currently receiving the Howler by mail and would like it emailed (we are trying to cut down on cost of printing and postage) please contact me. Thank you to those members who have contacted me. When filling out membership applications, PLEASE MAKE SURE ALL INFORMATION IS FILLED IN AND PRINTED CLEARLY. I can’t process your applications if I can’t read them. Also, the APPLICATION FEE IS $40. This must be submitted with the application in order for it to be processed. WINDWARD BEACH in Brick (contact me if you would like to help) - SED TRIP TO CAMP MOORE July 22. Please contact me before July 8th, if you would like to attend. All attendees are needed in serving lunch to campers and staff as well as clean up afterwards. Flores Sickness and Distress\ 732-751-1463 Drug Awareness As many of you already know, the Walk Out on Drugs was held May 5th at the Seaside Heights Boardwalk. Despite the pouring rain, many Elks turned out in support of the event. I would like to thank everyone who purchased a sneaker and donated to the Walk. Along with the rain, there was a downpour of donations from the entire Southeast District. Our total for the 2019 Walk Out was $11,780.00! Doing our part as a district, helps keep the cost of Peer Leadership down to affordable levels. Also, in May, the Howell Drug Awareness Committee held a "31 Gifts" party. Thank you to the committee for their help in setting up and preparing food. Once again, Howell members came out to support the party. The profits raised will go toward to Peer Leadership. Just an update on the upcoming Linda Shields Show. Were close to a sellout. There are approximately 20 seats left. If you have reserved a seat and have not paid, please do so as soon possible. The doors will open at 6 pm and Linda will begin at 7 pm. I look forward to a successful evening! Thank you to all who have supported the
fund raiser! All profits will go toward sending students to Path and Peer Leadership. Educating our youth helps to ensure a brighter future for us all!
