TANGLEFOOT
Spend part of your summer at Camp Tanglefoot this year! A
“second home” to many campers and counselors, this beautiful
location has so much to offer you! From swimming, canoeing,
kayaking, paddle boarding, riding on the pontoon, and sailing at the
waterfront to archery, the high ropes course, and campfires each
night you will be surrounded by a supportive and fun community
of other campers and counselors. Come find out for yourself why
so many of our campers become Counselors-in-Training, and
ultimately become counselors at Camp Tanglefoot!
Camp Tanglefoot is located along the shoreline of Clear Lake in
north central Iowa. This small but mighty 50 acre camp is made up
of mowed meadows, forested woodland, tall grass prairie, and hilly
terrain. We can’t wait to see you and your family this summer!

ADULT & ME CAMP
MOM ‘N’ ME OVERNIGHT

Come to camp with your mom, step-mom, aunt,
grandma or other adult female role model for a fun
overnight! This program is a great first experience for
girls who are interested in attending camp on their
own in the future. You’ll choose the activities you do
throughout the day including favorites like swimming,
boating, arts & crafts, archery, games, great food,
singing, and much more. Attend an evening campfire
followed by stargazing on a night hike. Wake up to a
delicious breakfast and more activities before heading
home. Housing accommodations are small cabins and
platform tents. Housing preference can be indicated when
registering, as space allows.
TROOP CAMP OVERNIGHT

Troop leaders, bring your whole troop to experience
the fun of summer camp! Your troop can choose
which activities you want to do throughout the
day. Activities are led by trained camp staff. Your
troop can choose to go swimming, shoot archery,
take a hike, make an art project at the Craft House,
and much more! Enjoy a campfire with singing
and s’mores in the evening. Troops must bring a
minimum of 5 girls and at least enough adults to
meet supervision ratios. Housing preference can
be indicated when registering, as space allows.

As a Counselor-in-Training (C.I.T.) at Camp Tanglefoot, you’ll participate in an extremely successful Leadership
Program directed toward your future in camp counseling and excelling at life. The program is completed over a two-
summer period, and the training is based upon the resources from leading child development experts, Girl Scouts of
the USA, and the American Camp Association. By participating in this program, you will create a strong foundation
for many other future leadership opportunities. After successful completion of the program, C.I.T.’s are eligible to
apply to work as camp staff.
C.I.T. II: In this session, you’ll expand upon the skills learned C.I.T. I, and will step up as a leader among your peers.
This session includes a week of experience leading younger campers in camp activities and outdoor living skills.
You’ll learn to safely facilitate camp programming and gain experience in various group dynamics, while learning
more about what it means to be a well-rounded and successful camp counselor.
C.I.T.s will have a session break from Friday, July 29, 2022 at 1:00 p.m. through Monday, August 1, 2022 at 12:00 p.m.
C.I.T.s must make arrangements to leave camp during this session break.
