Ages 6 Months – 5 Years String Orchestra Camp
Ages 7 -18 Years
String students ages 7-high school
REQUIREMENTS: At least one year’s experience
playing instrument and reading music (quarter
and eighth notes, minimum)
Students participate daily in full string orchestra
rehearsals, sectionals, and master classes/
special presentations. Three orchestra levels
under the direction of CMS orchestra conductors
will musically challenge every student.

Chamber Music Encounter
Ages 12 -18 Years
camp, parents and children will play, learn, sing,
dance, create, and share in the fun of making music String and piano students through high school
together. Each one of our activities is specially
designed to nurture every child’s natural curiosity, REQUIREMENTS: Acceptance is based on
encouraging each child to learn new words, new audition, instrumentation needs for chamber
concepts, and new ideas. ensembles (trios, quartets, quintets), and
readiness for small ensemble playing.

Wednesdays, June 7 - July 5 at Professional chamber musicians will coach
9:15 a.m., 10:15 a.m. or 11:15 a.m. trios, quartets, and quintets in this wonderful
music form where compositions are performed
CHESTERFIELD, STRAUSS CENTER IN by and written for one player for each part.
FAUST PARK Guest performers and speakers will share

Flute Camp
Students entering grades 7-12 in Fall 2023
REQUIREMENTS: One year playing flute in a
school band program or at least one year of
private flute instruction.
Calling all flutists! Facilitated by Nadine Hur,
this program is designed to address individual
strengths and challenges. It includes warm-
up exercises, tone, intonation and breathing
techniques, and nationally-renown guest flutists.
Past guests include Jeannie Baxtresser, Soo
-Kyung Park, Keith Underwood, Immanuel Davis,
Katherine Borst Jones, and Hadar Noiberg.
Summer Composition Intensive sessions with peers coached by camp faculty,
